Legio Draconis
Not to sure about the rust on the weapons but the marble effect on the sarcophagus is mighty fine. splicer407
Just a friendly critique, but wouldn't a GK dreadnought be well maintained and not rusty? The effect looks fantastic, but i think the premise is just a bit off. Otherwise fantastic job on all the scrolls and the marble looks freaking fantastic! Retributis
Depends on how long it's been fighting for :D I absolutely love the marble effect on the inquisition I for the front facing. Gorgeous brushwork. Mind going into depth on how you achieved the effect? rosja
Thanks for comments :P I know that it doesnt fit into GK fluff, but i HATE that pipmed shiny armor of theirs (i mean i would hate in my force - everyone should paint thair way ofc). If it looks not that bad on small minis (although termies, and GK unit will be a bit rusty as well), than i just couldnt look at silver vehicles (especially land raiders). concerning the marble effect, frankly it was my 1st attempt, and i used tutorial as well :) it was written by Ana from Chest of Colours, you will find it at their site - i dont know if wouldnt violate any rules by pasting the link here hope that i'll manage to post some updates today - ill start doing cables, so some colour will be added, as he's a bit too toned atm. oh and by the way i have managed to ebay old mini called Uriah Jacobus at last :D (it's not painted of course) http://static.letsbuyit.com/filer/images/fr/products/original/195/80/warhammer-40000-uriah-jacobus-prtre-chasseur-de-sorcire-19580749.jpeg he'll make a perfect henchman for the inquisitor retinue  soon i'll have to expand my roster by adding extra 500 points... lots of models dont fit in :( cheers! WarriorFish
The marble effect sarcophagus looks amazing! How did you do it? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208480-rosjas-finest-nurgle-update/page/2/#findComment-2498285 Share on other sites
rosja
ok concerning the marble: for the main layer i mixed space wolfes gray with skull white. then it's just the matter of painting random "waves" of marble. I have used GW washes for this, from lightest to darkest color, trying to blend them as much my as skill allows. The darkest lines were made with normal black, diluted with water - baadab is too washy, so i couldn't get a straight lines. I have also added a bit of red and blue wash for color variety. I have tried to pay caution so that the washes wouldn't flow all over the sarcophagus - i wanted some places to be brighter/contain more primer color. As the "marble" effect is somewhat dull itself i have shaded the place where it touches the armor stronger to increase the contrast :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208480-rosjas-finest-nurgle-update/page/2/#findComment-2498294 Share on other sites

rosja
My oh my, been a while... I've been fighting for the Emperor for a long time, but i have turned my back on him. Years have passed and i have finally succumbed to voices in my head that whispered "Chaos". It wasnt cheap but after playing some battles with replacement minis i have bought 10 Death Guard termies, 10 Khorne termies, Zhufor, Nurgle DP (aka greater daemon) and Plague Hulk (aka Defiler) from Forge World. Those who got those minis prolly know how awesome they are  I had some problems with plague hulk tho, as there was much drilling, pinning and green stuffing involved, as i couldnt fit that FW main body into GW plastic suspension... anyway, here are some photos. As you can see i have managed to add RAC as well, and i like the final result  http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5170/5380606144_7520ba23a7.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5290/5380606018_25fe062e7a.jpg And here's my greater daemon ive start to paint yesterday. Unfortunatly i coulndt afford Great Unclean One, but i will buy him when ill expand my formce to 2500 points: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5050/5380606362_161906a903_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5047/5380606510_da4ac54a73.jpg hope you like it  Cheers! GooseDaMoose
Awesooooome dreadnought, I'm gonna try and borrow the long purity seals idea if you don't mind :( You made them out of thin carboard is it? Some fine looking nurglars aswell, but shame on you for falling to the dark side.. rosja
It was made from thin metal plate, cut to purity seals (how obvious :P). I have used the old metal box in which tea bags were sitting. I have played with daemonhunters from the very beginning so frankly it's waaay too long for me ;) And my painting style suits Papa Nurgle better i guess. All that rust, and bloats. Its so much fun to paint :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208480-rosjas-finest-nurgle-update/page/2/#findComment-2630270 Share on other sites
