Sanguinary Guard Army, MkII

Recommended Posts

I just had the idea of using he LOTD sergeant for a Lemartes conversion, and now I have discovered you already beaten me to that too, lol.

Nice work man, love what you have done. I will definatly be using your NMM gold technique as I am really struggling with that myself. Another colour I detest is White, and you sir made my jaw drop. Please explain your White Technique!

Looking forward to seeing more.

ITS ALIIIVE

Hey!

It's me again bringing another one of my old threads alive.

Unfortunately, mr Dante took a heavy beating, then someone knicked his head and sword for another conversion...

So I've made a new Dante, with a big axe

Still WIP:

I've decided to go away from the white and maybe go for the classical gold colour, will give me some practice painting metals for when the grey knights are released

He's made from normal bits, and then pegasus wings.

Oh and I gave Dante a new head, as Chronus's was too small.

Dude, that looks epic! I just got a set of Pegasus wings in from mail order with the idea of doing the very same thing! I wasn't sure how it would look as they are quite large, but having seen yours, with the model mounted on a taller base, I think they are totally justified.

Keep up the good work

Not a fan of the Sanguinor, but thats just me. Your modeling looks really good, as did what looked like the beginning of your painting. Just wondering where you had gotten that flaming sword bit? Second time I have seen that bit this week.

Love the models. I like the idea of the army, and I'd love to create a similar one - the whole concept just resonates with me. It's fairly cheap, too, which is always a good thing when you're broke like me. Although, to be honest, I have my doubts that it's really any good as an army. Do you have some experience with that? Did you play the army, and if so, how does it work, and do you win sometimes? My current army is somewhat stagnating at the moment, because it just doesn't work as I imagined it, and I'd hate to have that problem again....

The flaming sword is from the Empire Wizard kit ^_^

And I had my MkI army last spring, did rather well gaming wise. Because you're opponent has NO idea where you're going to come down, and because of the damage you can do when it happens they panic and usually spread their army out across the entire board, meaning you can isolate them and rip them to shreds. It's hard wiping the opponent out usually, but you can kill a lot of stuff in the three/four turns you have.

Nice to see this army coming back to life again Tim, I loved your last blog from last year. Just 1 thing though mate is the lack of SG, I don't think you will get the full benefit out ofThe Sanguinor as I feel he is only best against IC or small squads. I tend to use more squads but mind you I barely even play 1.5 games and prefer 2k.
