Am I the only one?

Okay, maybe I'm the only one, and after reading and lurking here for a while I think I am definitely in the minority. I guess you could say that I have unwavering faith in the Emperor. Being the most powerful psychic/human being ever and having the foresight to plan the Imperium, the Adeptus Mechanicus (dragon C'tan anyone?) and basically the entire path that human history has been on for the past 50,000 years I find it hard to believe that he did not see the heresy and the past 10,000 years coming. My thoughts on the subject are that he knew that Horus would betray him, he knew that Magnus would screw up the Golden Throne, and he knew etc, etc. So I think he knows that things are going to get better! He knows that all of the pain, betrayal and blood has been worth it because in the end everything will be better.

As I was typing this out a thought occurred to me. Maybe the Emperor can only see the path that Humanity is on with his psychic aptitude. And maybe when he created the Primarchs they were removed enough from normal humanity that he couldn't see how they would affect the future. That would mean maybe he couldn't see the Heresy and how human civilization would end. Which would mean that the Emperors only mistake in his grand view for humanity was creating something that wasn't entirely human, the Primarchs, and throwing some unknowns (from his perspective) into the mix. All of his carefully wrought out plans fell apart by adding that one unknown variable...

I still lean towards the view that the Emperor knew what would happen and it's all part of the bigger plan to save humanity. Thoughts?

Just as planned huh.

Your optimism is impressive.

I'm afraid that doesn't work for me.

If you have read the Mcneil story the Last Church you would definately not think The Emperor planned where he is right now. He spent the unification wars on terra removing all religion from the planet. Now he is a religion. Pretty big Flip flop.

Also working on gaining entry to the webway and then expecting Magnus to ruin everything seems a bit strange.

The link above didn't work for me but Lexicanium explained all.

All those factions are pretty ridiculous, The only one that seems smart was..

Xeno Hybris - Xeno Hybris followers believe that there is much to be learned from alien technology, and only through co-operation with Xenos species will humanity ever prevail.

Super Underdog. I wonder if that faction really exists because even the Emperor hated aliens.

I tend to believe the emperor was a polypsykana he encouraged psykers. He did help with the training of the astropaths and the nobilis nobilite. which i concur with to some extent the race would have to change someway to be prepared for him leaving. well since the webway is off limits for now.
Any other Amalathians out there?

/ raises hand.

I agree that the Emperor had to see the HH comming to some degree. I don't think it was some thing he wanted to happen but his plan / path is a VERY narrow. I don' think he knew who was going to turn on him only that it would be split near down the middle. I also think he was truly sad that it was Horus who was the leader. How it is all going to play out i cant see but i think the empire is still on the Emps narrow road even if now it looks grimdark.

My hopes rest with the astartes and the Grey Knights in perticular.

I also think humans will have to find a way to work with the other races created by the Old ones. Orks , Tau, Eldar. If they dont the nids or necrons will eat every one.
