Brother_Fatiswon
i have not painted for a VERY long time, Pre-Eye of terror.. and this is the Chapter I've chosen to paint. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Invaders From my Research, looks like I'm going with vallejo model and game paints, and army painter brushes. i will be Hand painting the base coat on all my models(I'm under NO dead line, or in any kind of rush beside the one to enjoy myself!) Here's my question. Should i Base coat in Black or White? I'm thinking about how the Red of the lens, the bone of the skulls, and the Brass/dull gold, will "pop" Or is Gray that magic middle ground on this one? Head Mook
If you're getting back into the painting game give these two things a go: Foundation paints and washes. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...012&start=1 http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...amp;aId=6800011 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208557-the-invaders/#findComment-2488683 Share on other sites

Badaboom
Are you sure you want to paint the base color by hand? There are several color sprays which could save you lots of time and give you good results. Check out Tamiya, Army Painter and Vallejo. Good luck with the green. Brother_Fatiswon
at my LGS, playing with gray models (unprimed) is NOT frowned upon.. i still have moments, where i think that i should go with blues and Ultras. But i have painted about 40 Pa/10 tda marines in a super dark hunters green over a black primer/base back in like 1997? or was it 98? I dont really have any place i can use spray paint. and i really really don't like the fumes from the aerosol. i'm not in any kind of hurry, i figure, i'll have them done by the time my daughter is done with high school, maybe(she's3). Think what i'll do is a bunch of test models. Prime like 3 black and 3 white.. maybe try those new foundation paints... was leaning pretty hard towards vallejo game paints, due to what i've read about their White primer and base white game paints.. can any one give me some input regarding painting over GW foundation paints... say i prime in black... base in knarloc green, and laid down scorpion green down for the armor, What do i do for the aquila, shoulder trim, lens, gun.etc etc having a hard time getting my head around it.. cover in Black? and re layer from there?
