R0N1N
I'm not all that clued up with the BA's fluff, but just looking a some aspects I was wondering the following. What is stopping me from painting my BAAL pred Black? The DC have black armour and their Vehicles are usually painted black. DC Dreads have black armour and I have even seen Droppods painted black. Even Landraiders can be black because DC can use them as dedicated transport. All BA have the rage in them and now I'm asking myself why would there never have been any BAAL pred crew succumbing to the rage? I think that painted right a BAAL would look awesome in black armour... What do you guy's think?
Brother Ulkesh
Technically, there's nothing stopping you... However, you hit the nail on the head when you said the Landraiders, etc, were painted black because they were transporting DC nutters - I very much doubt the vehicle crew themselves would be left in charge of the transport if they had fallen to the rage. Something as valuable as a Baal Predator wouldn't be left in the hands of someone who's likely to crash into the nearest object then leap out of the vehicle to try to punch the enemy in the face. Brother-Captain Devlonir
The Black Rage is different than the Red Thirst in the way that it is noted before the battle commences. Marines with the rage are sent into the Death Company, no matter what their role was before. I also do not believe that a Baal crew would be left to control their vehicle if they have fallen to the Rage. Now, what if this Baal is actually used as a support vehicle for an all DC battle force? Then I'd say the crew would act much like the crew of a Rhino or Land Raider and paint their vehicles black to honor their fallen brothers. So, in an all DC army, I'd also paint all support vehicles black for that same reason: To honor their brethren who they are supporting through their holy mission of falling in service to the Emperor and Sanguinius. Agree with you here. YOu can paint them any colour you want but in regards to the DC I have only seen DC units and their transports painted Black. To tell you the truth I do not even paint my DC Rhino black. It rolls in red. I figure that the Rhino crew are not raging and they could even be assigned to other units as well so it stay red.
