Thunderwolf Cav and Instant Death

This is a pretty elementary question, but are Thunderwolf cav instant death-ed at S8 and higher or S10 and higher? Basically, does their toughness increase work in the same way a bike model would or are they an actual T5? Also, does this count for Thunderwolf Lords as well? Thanks.

not quite, there are many weapons out there that can instant kill a Wolf Lord without being str 10.

Sicarius, Boneswords, Force Weapons, Khan, Skulltaker (think thats the guys name), Captain Al'rahim and Implant Attacks are all types of weapons that can cause intant death regardless of the models toughness, so it depends on the chances of facing those sort of things.

I would say in most environments other sagas would be better on a thunderwolf lord than that of the bear.

Honestly, I've been hard-pressed to find one that's really worth its points on him. A lot of people like warrior born - but I rarely find mine in combat for more than a turn at a time, and even then, it's usually with multi-wound MCs or something, so he'd be getting no extra attacks anyways...

Pretty much the same for me. If anything, I seem to need Majesty the most on him, he's run away and been chased off the table at least three times in the last month.

Ouch! It's only happened to me once in 3 months or so...

I will say the most useful (if not situational) is probably Beastslayer - but something about taking that in an all-comers list just doesn't sit right with me... Honestly I'd much rather be able to buy a master-crafted frost blade for him... but oh well.

The only Saga I've used is Saga of the Bear. Nothing says shock like taking a couple of terminator fists to the face, shrugging and swinging back (though with one wound I wasn't keen on charging his Librarian, so was content to just keep following him off the table).
I also support Saga of the Bear, though the weapon I'd give my Lord is likely a FB or WC with SS. It just feels more like what a WL would use, with high Init giving his swings a nasty greeting on the way in. Quick question, do TWC have Frags and Kraks? Can't remember, although they're pretty nasty without if that's the case.
