Blitzkreig
Hey all, So my usual list consists of Logan, Njal, 2 Land Raiders and of Wolf Guard Terminator Squads. Currently it is sitting at around 2000 points and I wanted to ask if anybody uses Land Speeders in a Terminator Force. Recently I got a hold of a couple of Predators and am planning on bringing the list up to 2500 points... So basically; 1 - Does anybody use Land Speeders in a Terminator force? 2 - How well do they perform? 3 - What sort of gear do you give them? 4 - I currently use 5 Troops choices in 2000 points, will this number be sufficient at 2500 or not? And so you know, Njal has been less than stellar lately (usually offing himself with perils at the exact wrong time) so I may be removing him in favor of more Terminators or a Wolf Priest or 2. Quillen
You can use them with anything. And it's how you use that that amks them worth it or not. I have used them a few times. They are fragile. I mean fragile. I use them for fluff games or fun games. They can swoop in to contest an objective. Move behind a tank to pop it. It's all in how you use them. In a tourny list I avoid them. Better use for the points else where. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208689-land-speeders/#findComment-2490037 Share on other sites
Evilbob
I use 2 in damn near every game, multi meltas and missiles. I love them, and my friends find them very frustrating. Levitas
I use a couple of typhoons with Multi-meltas. Sit them at the back and pick on cheap transports, or go the 24" down the flanks to threaten side armor. I favor the typhoon as its very mobile and doesnt have to get close, plus it pops out two anti-tank krak or 2 horde thinning frag shots. If its a nasty tank you have to take out then you can get close with the MM but expect the speeder to go down next turn. They are great, but just require good tactics as they are not durable at all. I use mine in conjunction with long fangs which arguably do a better job for cheaper points but without the mobility. Taking your list upto 2.5k might be better done with a couple of packs of long fangs and a land speeder. 5 troops is a good amount but then you have small elite squads. Play around with it, but long range mobile fire power will really help it out.
