kittenofdeath
Its been a while since I've played this paticular expansion, and when I have I've never really thought about the best way to utilize the special rules involved, however I've recently become aware of an upcomming tourniment using the CoD ruleset and am ever so tempted to bust out the old book and have a go. But like I said, My experience with CoD is limited, so any input you most venerable of long fangs can give would be much appreciated. I will however do a quick write up of my own first impressions. Grey Hunters are more awesome then usual, their magical 24 inch death zone is all the better in the cramped confines of a cityfight, sure their enemy might get cover saves more often, but with that many bolter shots being thrown about for so little a cost is not to be trifled with. Vehicles are nerfed, even in the regular games you always had to be wary that no meltas snuck their way in to 6 inch range, and now that you have to get close to so much as see your targets its going to be mighty hard not to be melta'd to death. Most of the strategems seem rather meh to me, such as one called command center, which gives people counter attack... Gee, how could I not take that one. but there are one or two that appear to be rather brutal, such as fortifications and combat engineers, both of which sound interesting thanks to their rather ambiguous wording reguarding the the current grenade rules, depending on how the organisers play it, one can posibly make ignore assault grenades, while another can net me I10 on the charge if I charge a forification, both quite scary prospects. Evilbob
Grey hunters are always good lol. Vehicles in general are less effective but walkers are still worth taking. Our fast choices seem to shine though, with Thunderwolves and huge packs of Fen Wolves. The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
i would disagree as neither of those two options can assault people in the second floor of a building. Evilbob
Why attack the occupants when you can take a Wrecker stratagem and just deal with the building itself? Kassill
Cant you get some special shells for Vindies? If so, I would run three supported by Grey Hunters and Rune Priests and go about FLATTENING the entire city -_- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208702-space-wolves-and-cities-of-death/#findComment-2490942 Share on other sites

The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
Why attack the occupants when you can take a Wrecker stratagem and just deal with the building itself? because i did not think of that just watch the redeemer though its easy to become trapped if the terrain is set up correctly Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208702-space-wolves-and-cities-of-death/#findComment-2490992 Share on other sites
