Seahawk
I can't see any text in this thread for some reason, but I use the following: - Micro Coat Satin for the hard protective layer over a decal - Micro Coat Flat for a dull finish. Both products are fantastic and low priced ftw. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208745-transfersdecals-protection/ Share on other sites
ravenguard2010
Hmm my bad, I don't know whats happened there, I wrote a whole paragraph and submitted it. lol. I asked something along the lines of is the citadel purity seal any good? I'm not fussed on the the shiny look that some varnishes (even this one matt varnish I had in the past) leave so I was wondering what other people used... But yeah, cool man I'll check those out now. Thanks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208745-transfersdecals-protection/#findComment-2490805 Share on other sites
chenley
I use standard white PVA glue, it dries clear, and has a matt finish too it. But it is cheap and effective for what I want. Rymeer
Since my entire army is only 'table top' quality painted, why bother with dull coat? A 50-50 mixture of plain tap water and 'white' glue (Elmers, etc) works fine for me. It dries transparent, and one can easily dab a spot of paint to repair a decal, and then re-coat with the water/glue mixture again. If you are just throwing your models into something like a tackle box, or loose into some other container... then I suggest a hard coat product and a couple of coats of it for each model. But, if you're like me, and use something like the various foam trays and fitted bags, then you too can 'get away' with the simple expedient of glue and water coatings. Since, your models will undergo FAR less 'wear and tear' in such a case. It all depends on what you do, and how much you invest. Personally, in my case, the cost of the Army Cases is well worth the expense. Heck, if I am going to drop hundreds of dollars on 'plastic crack'... then a few bucks extra for some protection for my mini's is well worth it to me. Just my thoughts, Rymeer Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208745-transfersdecals-protection/#findComment-2492144 Share on other sites
