jma037
Brothers of the Wall! Fellow Defenders of HIS Palace! Hail! Greetings from the Cursade! May your kills be many and your death glorious! I seek wisdom. Brothers. Enlighten me on Furioso Dreadnoughts. I understand they are one of your MOST ancient machines. Many are believed to have served at the Wall. How numerous are they? Were they ever mentioned in official fluff? And generally anything you can tell me about them. Why do they have a higher front armour? In the Name of the Emperor! jeremy1391
Dread with two fists...... Or with the equivalent of dreadnought lightning claws -_- I think there Are 1-5 dreads per company. There are also five within the chapter that are librarians who have been interred into a modified furioso with a force weapon as one of it's arms! bloodancient
First may i say that is one of the funniest quotes i have ever read. Now to the question Lots of Fluff Furioso's are the venerated Dreads of the BA. Frontal armor is higher on them to with stand the constant CC that the Brothers must endure due to their well i guess lack of long range weapons. 5 furiosos 5 furioso libbies and 21 other basic dreads. there are also those that have been consumed by the black rage while intered and are of an unknown number. During an attack on Baal the "41"(thats what it says in C:BA) Dreds destroyed the remnants of an Ork Waaaagh that somehow made planet fall all by themselves while waiting for the battle companies to make it back from orbit and the 2 moons. Nomus Sardauk
Greetings Brother jma037, we don't get many sons of Dorn around here. Your Chapter and it's decendants are afforded great respect as fellow defenders of the Imperial Palace, welcome to the hallowed halls of Blood Angels Fortress-Subforum. You seek knowledge of our venerated Furioso Dreadnoughts? I am no Librarian but as I recall the design was not re-discovered as is the case with most Imperial machines, instead it was created long ago by a Blood Angels Techmarine whose name is sadly lost to me. jma037
Hail! Brothers! My studies in the Crusade Reclusium has led me to this painting of what is clearly a furioso dreadnought in the Holy Codex. However, this Furioso is painted in the colour of The Black Templars and is slaying the cursed greenskin alongside our bretherns. How do you explain such things? I humbly seek your wisdom. In the Emperor's Name!
Jakobus
I would recommend confirming if you are looking at a Furioso or an Ironclad Dradnaught.
jma037
I would recommend confirming if you are looking at a Furioso or an Ironclad Dradnaught. Confirmed. The ancient painting in the Holy Black Templar Codex indeed bears all the likeness of the Furioso and not of the Iron Clad.
JamesI
The Iron Clad didn't exist when the BT codex came out. The image is a Furioso. Doesn't the BT codex also have the image of a Whilrwind? I don't know why the image is in the codex, but it makes sense that the BT would have some kind of combat dread (I expect their update will get the Ironclad or something similiar)

BrotherMoses
Greetings Son of Dorn, Jma. I believe I have seen glorious painting of which you speak. Mayhaps the picture in question occured during the third war for Armageddon where both of our hallowed chapters were present? Could it be one of our eternal brethren wearing a Templar banner to honour our joint efforts against the foul greenskins?
