Artein
I'm hoping to see Eliphas, Avitus, Thaddeus and Tarkus as CSM heroes. ^_^ Oh, and I'm waiting for a twist revealing that the Ancient is in fact Indrick Boreale. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208806-dawn-of-war-ii-retribution/page/4/#findComment-2593440 Share on other sites

Artein
Latest news.... IG is new army. Heroes are: -Inquisitor (offensive ranged; female witch hunter who can ignite single targets and has flame aoe) -Lord General (healer; can... well, heal, call all sorts of reinforcements and has a mustache now Oo) -Lord Commissar (melee supporter; can cloak and has melee specials, much like lictor alpha; regular commissars are also in) Lots of tanks, one of them in T1, Baneblade is in. Catachans are in. http://community.dawnofwar2.com/forums/topic/44352 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208806-dawn-of-war-ii-retribution/page/4/#findComment-2598446 Share on other sites
NExOBLIVISCARIS
^^I called this soooo long ago and man if feels good to be right^^ look at 30 seconds in this trailer their are imperial gaurdsmen agianst chaos and if you look at the top of the screen you see a requisition point which is not in campain or last stand and there are no randomized units in multiplayer so what else could it be? Ranwulf
So Imperial Guard now have a Lord Beaver... Lord Beaver seems awesome, even been a beaver. Diomedes looks awesome! Eliphas Blum, you better be as good as Eliphas Dobson! But I think this game IS going to be awesome! Pretty sure now! shrike2214
It cant be just me who still isnt sure about the change in the games dynamic, personally i liked the whole you have 6 squads with 1-4 units and you must use them wisely i don't like the idea of building your army in field at least not with the SM i can see it working with the nids and to a point the guard but the orks well from what little i understand they move in HUGE numbers so why would there be a small task force building units infield it makes no sense. Any how i get the feeling im rambling a little. What does everyone else think of the new strategy dynamic? Bloodmange
From what I can see here: http://www.dawnofwar2.com/us/retribution/media/screenshots/5 There is an Imperial Guard Lord General Castor, Lord Bermn, a Sergeant Merrick, and a woman by the name of Inquisitor Adristia. Looks like they're getting Baneblades somewhere in the game and valkyries too!!!! Demoulius
something is iffy about the story. first they will purge the planets from the xenos and traitor, and THEN do exterminatus? why do it at all? it seems odd....and if your enemies are on the planet, just do exterminatus to begin with. saves alot of trouble/manpower/resources imho ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208806-dawn-of-war-ii-retribution/page/4/#findComment-2633592 Share on other sites
shrike2214
From what i read in PC Gamer the first two to three levels are showing you how the new game mechanics work then theres a free for all kill death fight where each race is trying to get off planet before the big guns go. Seems intresting to me Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208806-dawn-of-war-ii-retribution/page/4/#findComment-2633708 Share on other sites
hexonxonx
i've been playing the beta lately and the inquisitor is simply an IG hero choice. I'm not sure if this has any bearing on the single player campaign though as we only get access to the multiplayer. It's also a hereticus inquisitor, but i think you knew that already :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208806-dawn-of-war-ii-retribution/page/4/#findComment-2660435 Share on other sites

hexonxonx
Yeah man, the beta has been made available for people who have copies of DOW2 and Chaos Rising activated on steam. Possibly if you don't there might be an 'opt in' somewhere on the DOW website, but i haven't had cause to look. From my own experience retribution doesn't actually change that much in the way of game play for multiplayer, i play eldar though so we're still a horribly under powered army ;) IG start off with a sentinel as well, which can be used to capture points on the map, unlike other vehicles. you wouldn't believe how frustrating it is to kill with only a squad of guardians ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208806-dawn-of-war-ii-retribution/page/4/#findComment-2661705 Share on other sites

hexonxonx
i just saw the little circular bar that appears when you go to capture something and do them both, but i haven't played the guard. eldar are still my first love in that game, even though i'm a marine at heart Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208806-dawn-of-war-ii-retribution/page/4/#findComment-2662051 Share on other sites
