Lash vs Kharn or his squad

Recommended Posts

He cannot be moved by a player.

Exactly. That is all there is to it. And since he cannot be moved by a player, then neither can his squad.

Morale tests and falling back, tank shocking, all of those explicity give you permission to move him and the squad. Lash of Submission does not do this. Lash of Submission only gives you the right to move the squad except for Khârn, and thus cannot be fulfilled- because if Khârn doesnt have permission from the rules of the game to move then no one in his squad does.

Your last example is likewise useless- because the power of Lash sets the speed, each models individual normal speed is irrelevent. In effect, all the beserkers will get a movement of 2d6, and Khârn will have a move of 0. Thus, the whole squad moves up to 0".

And since he cannot be moved by a player, then neither can his squad.

There are other instances where only some models of a unit move, or are even allowed to move. When a Tank would end up over some models of a unit, then those models are moved out of the way. The other models of the unit are not allowed to move in this situation, but that does not prevent the one's that would end up under the Tank to be moved out of the way. After a combat, all models that are not already in base contact make their pile in move. Models of the unit may not otherwise move, so the models that are already in contact are not allowed to be moved in any way (like out of contact, or in contact with a different enemy model, or moving around the enemy model to make room for their squad mates). And again that does not inhibit the pile in move of the free models.

The "Lash" move is essentially a forced move, as it is disadvantageous to the owning player and he can do nothing about it. It just happens that the enemy player can decide where the models move. It could just as well be a 2d6 move towards the sorcerer, a 2d6 move in a direction rolled on the scatter die, or a 2d6 fall back move. The question about how Khârn would affect it would remain the same. And I am pretty sure that Khârn not being forced to move would not prevent his squad mates from being forced to move.

the "unit moves at the speed of the slowest model" has no impact, as lash does not move things at the speed of unit, but a set 2d6.

I personaly would allow lash to move Karn if he is part of a unit, thats one of the disadvantages of being part of a unit, if any model in a unit can be targeted, the entire unit can be targeted. esentialy everyone in his squad goes glassy eyed and starts walking somewhere and Karne follows allong likely spewing a series of curses that translate roughly to "Now come on dear boys, there is an entire regement over there that we are supposed be disembowing, we don't have time for this merry little sojurn of yours." (As we all know Karne is a paragon of civility, he just has Tourette's)
