Basing some "elite" troops for my BA looking for suggestions

My whole army is currently based with a greyish rock painted up from black, and green grass. Each assault troop pretty much has a large rock on his base somewhere. (See below as examples)

 

But for my VV and HG I wanted to make the bases first then attach the mini after.

 

My wife has her Orks modelled up (At least some of them) that they are killing Blood Angels so I thought I might return the favor some how.

Here are some in-completed mini's a DC, Librarian Uriel who has since received Dante's Jet Pack.. (As Dante will have wings) and Lemartes, gives you an idea of my basis.
