What would a Space Wolves Movie be like?

GREAT!

If you were Chosen (by myself) to work on this film, who would you chose, from whatever medium eg. GW,Forge World, 'Eavy Metal, Black Library or even B&C!) to work as a correspondant on this movie?

my choices:William King(obviously!) and Phil Kelly(for his extensive knowledge of the Space Wolves)

A space wolves movie? First thing that came to mind was beerfest with guns!

I thought about it again and imagined a story about the 13th great company fighting a guerrila war in the warp, kind of like a Dante's inferno type of thing. Ragnar is a great character, don't get me wrong, however it might be best to have him as a cameo character, or have his name referred to (to get the fanboys going).

A new character, a thunderwolf rider, or perhaps Arjac and Lukas working together (an EPICally expensive unit, btw) as a sort of odd couple thing

I have to be honest, I don't like "odd couple" movies. Why can't we have a movie where two men meet, develop a near instant respect for each other, and then get on to doing their job (in the case of the Wolves, killing things) without drama? Hollywood has been playing the "odd couple" piece for laughs but laughter (other than the laughter of bloodthirsty gods) has no place in the 41st millennium.

Also even in three hours you'd be hard pressed to introduce the 41st millennium, the Imperium of Man, some of its enemies and one main character in any depth, add a second main character and something else will have to go.

Fortunately, because the Fenrisian has to be educated on the history of the Imperium as part of his training we can educate the audience on the basics at the same time.

For some reason i can see lukas as the joker from the dark knight

-Lukas is repeatadly stabbing a traitor in the face-

-Arjac walks up- "ok lukas i think he's dead"

-Lukas-"Why so serious bats hehahahaha!

-Arjac (looks puzzled) "huh?"

If it was about ragnar i reckon clive owen could pull off the job.

Its a tough one to do without expecting the audience have basic knowledge of the 40K universe.

But for sake of the post let's say the world is up to speed on the 40K universe. I would do a moviewith new fluff.

I'd like to see a movie or book written about Logan Grimnar's death and a new Wolf Lord succeeding as great wolf. The story would have to give a background on succesors and show them in action. noone will know who the succesor is till the end.

If it was about ragnar i reckon clive owen could pull off the job.

And not Banderas?

Banderas was already in the Space Wolf movie. It's called 13th Warrior! Just take that movie and put everybody in power armour! The guy with the Breastplate gets terminator armour. It's got all of the elements of Space Wolves, even the glorious death and saga.

Damn :( I completely forgot about it :D. That's why I looked at Banderas and instantly saw that he 100% fits in SW movie :P

Here is what I picture for the trailer:

Sounds of battle.

Nighttime lit by flickering flames raging across a fishing village.

Two distinct forces at battle.

Camera zooms to focus on one black-maned youth, killing with each stroke of his dual-wielded axes.

The youth pauses in battle to look up towards the view point of the camera and through his eyes we see the camera pan up and back from black ceramite boots, greaves, belt full of talismans, dual wolf-headed breastplate, wolf pelt cloaked shoulders pads, and finally on a wolf skull helm of a Wolf Priest surveying the battle.

Cut to black screen,

runic script appears,

SPACE WOLF

Or I just thought about this one:

A black-maned youth in battle with axe and shield against similar equipped enemy. The clink of weapons and grunts of exertion are key points of this scene along with the fast paced combat filming of say the Bourne Supremacy/Identity fight scenes.

As the battle progresses however, there are cut scene flashes intermixed that shows the same black-maned youth encased in grey armor fighting against an enemy in similar armor trimmed in blue and gold. We hear the wheezing of pistons and the high pitched whirl of chainsword meeting chainsword this time.

Now the speed of the two different but same battle scenes builds to a crescendo at which point the final swing of the axe towards the camera, blacks out the screen.

Heavy breathing of exertion. Opens with the face of the youth, sweat running, flecks of blood dotting his face. As the camera pans out slowly, the face begins to morph. The bone structure changes, skin changes, the eyes change, the hair pulls up into a topknot. Finally a smile reveals a fang-toothed grin.

runic script,

SPACE WOLF

If the movie is going to be about Ragnar then my vote would be Hugh Jackman.

I know from the xmen movies is played wolverine decently feral. I also dont think hes that tall. I always picture ragnar not as tall as the most other space marines.

Just my 2 cents

Replace claws for a wicked chainsword, whack him in power armour and give him a gun! I love it :)

i'm sure he could pull it off. Anyone for 3D?

WHY DIDNT I THINK OF 3D!

-Ragnar Blackmane: Christian Bale (Ok, so don't flame me on this one, I know some dont prefer him, but I have been thinking about this all day, and for some reason, the only person I can picture as Ragnar at the moment, is Bale. If you can think of someone better, please feel free to post.)

-Liam Neeson: Njal Stormcaller/Narrator

-Liev Schreiber-Sven

(this is the only bit of the cast I have so far. When I can think of more, I will post them.)

While the camera is panning about Fenris and displaying the credits, the music would be something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezRXWkZIYmI

And as the music and credits finish out, it ends over the water showing 4 or so Dragonships. At the head of the first one, it stops on a young man leaning out over the bow of the ship.

Ragnar Thunderfist.

Lovin' it, cept for Bale. How about Gerard Butler as Ragnar? THIS....IS..... FENRIS!!!!!!!

*Is late to race*

Ragnar is a young lad, and we follow him through his life with Ana etc. and we come to the final battle where he dies. The audience's hearts break after they have been drawn into loving the young man, and then the camera turns to black. Final scene: Camera fades in from black, and we see a blue, cold and pale Ragnar waking once more with a great gulp of breath. Then it fades to black once more, and a single line comes onto the screen:

Only the dead have seen the end of the war; and only the risen have seen the beginning.
