R0N1N
Guy's, we're playing a team tournament at the moment and today one of our oponents (also a BA player) played with a pretty standard list, but afterwards driving home me and my teammate started to think about our oponents list. My question is: Can you take a Landraider at all if you do not buy it as a dedicated transport? Our opponent had 3 Assault Marine squads, but 2 squads removed their packs and took Rhino's. the third Squad had JP's but he also played an empty landraider. the rest of his army was 2 priests and Mephiston as well as a Furioso Dread with talons in a pod. My teamate thinks that dedicated transports can only be taken if a sqaud takes them, but cannot just be bought in a force organization slot. I'm also not sure now. I don't think he could have taken that landraider at all. it was our last game ofthe day, so tomorrow morning I want to go to the TO to check for validity of his list. Any advice? Brother-Captain Lucius
dedicated transports have to be bought with a unit so yeah he cheated you out. Only way to get raiders are through temries and squads. EDIT : yeah forgot to say assault squads who TAKE OFF their jump packs :P
R0N1N
I thought so, darn! that LR of him took out 3 razorbacks and and assault squad giving them 4 more killpoints and the win. thanks for the quick reply
Volcatus
I would say it is invalid. Assault Squads can only take a Dedicated Transport choice if the give up their jump packs. Your opponent might be trying to blur the lines and say that you can take multiple DT's for a single unit, in which case your TO will have to make a RAI call; One DT choice per unit, and combat squads don't count as two units when writing a list.
