I think the new flying twin hulled uber-landraider with wings is all we need in terms of new transport options, although a slightly bigger drop pod could be fun. Some tank variants would be nice...

The Predator GROND with Wolf Head cannon that spits melta flame

The Whirlwind Long Tooth - new missile options and faster (like the Baal Pred)

New WOLF SCOUT MODELS... or at least a WOLF SCOUT upgrade sprue.

Oh yeah, do wantz!!!!!1 Never thought that my first IA is going to be this good.... ;) Would also love to see some new Space Wolves models made by forgeworld, including the ones that all you lads have mentioned.... ;)

A few other snippits from GD Balitmore. In fact Space Wolves entries won 1st place in both Group and Single Miniature 40k categories unfortunately they didn't win the Slayer Sword though. There was also a Forgeworld Conversion entry in a category somewhere however I was unable to find pictures of it.

WOW! The single mini is so well posed, painted, everything! That is how I imagine yellow to look on a Marine!

I wonder how they did the Iron Wolf icon on the squad?

EDIT: Even the glow in his sword has got me oohing like a monkey!

Well for IA 11 I personally would like to see the following:

bring back the Russ Ext. variant...and maybe a 'Baal' like turret upgrade for it??...hmmm maybe not...(loves me some assault cannons)

and no one even mentioned the special character for ARJAC...??...hmmm...FW could do him justice I think...

definately a squad size TWC set would be nice...

maybe an official FW pack upgrade set?...

and that missing link tank between the Rhino/Razorback and the Pred that has been hinted at in previous IAs would be of great interest...

and maybe it's just wishful thinkin...but rules and fig for a Forge Father (ultimate IP with HARNESS)

Yeah, a squad upgrade pack would be cool. Especially if it had heads with BOTH hair and beards. I mean, where does it say, to have a full head of hair, you cant have a beard, or if you have a beard, you cant have a full head of hair!? Oh well, guess I will have to work on my GS-fu.

When I asked on Dakka some of the comments indicated that there were boo's and stuff at the mention of Space Wolves. So there were not alot of questions about what the models were going to be. I think our guys were caught off guard and could not capitalize on the moment. Either way I think there will not be all that much for the Sons of Russ. They have the doors for the tanks, an awesome dreadnaught, brass etchings, transfer sheets and a terminator conversion kit. My fingers are crossed for T. Wolves and maybe a special character but not alot else. I just don't see them doing alot more than that.

I hate that people hate wolves. I picked them because I heard they were more melee friendly and I wanted a more elite army than the eldar I had been playing with, didnt know much about the old codex at the time. I've heard that its just cause of our lower cost per unit troop choices. Oh well I'm excited for this this and hope that there will be some cavalry love along with maybe a wolf pelt pack with wolf pelts for vehicles and power and termie armor. I like the ones on the packs already but I want more choices!

yeah they have all that stuff already...but the decal sheet is actually the old GW print off...why not maybe a set for one of the other GCs and maybe, since there are quite a few players now going that route, some thing pre heresey?...

Thing is... its not per unit, its per model.

When you give them equipment, a GH squad is about the same price as a Tac squad with similar equipment.

oh ok well nvm then. Oh well haters be hatin.

I always wished there was some kind of light armored transport that you could load up a full pack of bloodclaws in.

Like a Rhino with an armored trailer :tu:

Hah. Well the UK army does have something like that called the Viking APC, how fitting.

And look it comes with smoke lauchers!

gallery_44726_4331_69173.jpg

It also has rubber tracks, and gets blow up by IEDs (a lot)

That's what you get for deploying a vehicle designed by the Swedes for operations with the Arctic Circle to Afghanistan!

A miniture drop pod that can only hold one man in it, such as IC charcters and more importently Lone Wolves. With a built in beacon.

Sure, sounds a tad underwheming, but I would love to actually provide decent transports. Even a one man assualt vercile could be awesome. I want to be able to transport my Lone Wolves to battle in style. XD

Can a LW take a dedicated trans?...

anyways...as far as the big bad @$$ w/ TH character...yeah definately Arjac

would be nice to get some serious love from FW and not this penny ante crap they have done in the past...although the WGT conversion stuff is nice...with the new plastics out it's kinda redundant now...so something new and fresh would be nice

and not just some new transfer sheet or brass etching stuff...I am hoping for some serious new models...

They cannot currently. Though I guess they don't really need them either. They can't die by instant death and being in termi armour + Storm sheild means that you either let them get to your lines, or you invest a lot of fire power so they don't.

I know they can't...was just bein a bit sarcastic there...sorry

IF you put yer LW in termi armor not always a cost effective choice (and a BC lone survivor is not likely to get that option)...but that's for another thread...

I'm actually pleased that the lads will finally get a full out shout in one of the IA books...and not just an honorable mention in some compendium this time around...I just hope that FW WILL come across and give us a hint of the love they have shown chapters like the RS and the IG DCoK...yeah here's wishing right?

Hrmm... see, and I see it more like this:

Harsath Bloodmonger was but a humble Grey Hunter, one of a pack of 9. He had the honor to bare a powerfist into battle, and he was darn good at it. At the battle of seven towers his unit was ordered to hold a position at all costs while the rest of the company was redeploying. Nearly 200 of his brothers and 2000 IG were at stake.

The world Eaters were numerous, and supported by the tanks of traitor gaurd. Firing for as long as they could from the cover of a ruined building Pack Thurisaz numbered but 3 men when their long fang support was taken out by an enemy defiler.

Determined to buy more time at any costs the three Grey Hunters charged forth, Hrothgar and Menoth having taken their fallen brothers meltaguns. As they surged forward guns ablazing they accounted for no fewer then five Leman Russ tanks and a rhino. Still, they were heavily outnumbered and despite the advantage of mobility they had in the crowded confineds of the city-hive they were eventually overun. Harsath himself fell in combat with the dread defiler, Menoth slaying it but a moment later and dying of the shrapnel.

Of all his pack only Harsath could be healed by the Wolf Priests. He was given battlefield commendations for valor and heroism, and promoted to Wolf Gaurd on the spot.

Harsath however was a changed man, and the death of his brothers and elders laid heavy on his mind. So it was, that a year later he asked his lord and his companies wolf priest to allow him to undergo the ritual of the lone wolf, that he might die in glorious battle and end his suffering.

Bjorn Stormwolf was not a man to allow a good resources to be casually thrown away, and so it was that he commanded that if Harsath was to do this, he must do it as he was presently outfitted. He would have five years to acheive his ends- and then, should he have failed he was to be reinducted into the ranks of the Wolf Gaurd. All agree, and the ceremony was held three days later.

Harsath Bloodmonger is rumored to be somewhat wolfbitten and unpredictable these days, but all of his company know that he will hold true to his oath- that he will seek ever greater glory, ever greater triumph, in search of honor for his lost pack. While he yearns to die, he cannot do so through incompetency of willfull surrender. So it is that to this day he surges forward, stormshield strapped to one mighty arm and frost blade in the other... and his foes tremble as he comes for their souls.

*drools at the possibility of resin Ragnar or even Logan* - since this suggests that FW don't have a problem with touching GW special characters...

Why do it see a Really Expensive Wolf Guard in my Future? ;)

From Forgeworld Newsletter #248. Apparantly we are going to see some more information announced about the below at Games Day UK!

Warwick Kinrade, the writer of Imperial Armour Volume 8: Raid On Kastorel-Novem, will be laying bare his plans for future Imperial Armour books which might involve snow, Eldar and a popular Space Marine Chapter…

Sounds like the Space Wolves to me!
