Khornfilers

Recommended Posts

So its been a while since i posted a project of mine here.

Its been a long while that i want to make my own molds for specific pieces likes skulls, weapons, alternate heads and stuffs, but i always was afraid that i would be too clumsy and patheticly fail.

So i want since a long time to make my Defilers true Khornfilers by replacing this ugly turret with a big skull!

But since i also want to make 3 Khornfilers this way,so that i can fill them in an Apoc game as Slaughterfiends,it was essential that i did molds and resin cast of this skulls, way more easy then going through the pain of searching 3 big enough skulls.

So i was there searching for stuffs in mu old toys and legos boxes(i have a huge heap of those...,no wonder that i love 40k...)and look what i've found!!!

Isn't it the most awesome and bad ass toy that you ever layed your eyes on ?

Ok so for those who arn't old enough to know what this is,its a Skeleton Warriors toy,Skeleton Warriors was a animated show much like He-man,Vissionarys,Gi-joe and stuffs, meaning an animated show made to promote a toy line.

Unforthunatly the line was cancelled after a year so there's a lot of abbandoned projects, but we where lucky enough to have this reall bad ass Skeleton Legion Skull Cycle.

There's two projects that poped in my mind when i found this:

1; Using it to make various skulls molds(obvisouly)

2;Using it to make a Chaos aircraft, like the Hellblade figther, you can easly add a cockpit where the saddle stands, widen it a bit just after the ribcage and its a perfect Chaos vehicle!!!

Here's the mold made with siligum

And the final result!!

Well for a first cast;i must say that i'm pretty pleased with the result,i nearly got no air bubbles(2 maybe 3),but i see a few errors, like some areas like the nose and the eye sockets, where the siligum din't go deep enough when making the mold.

But hey!,its my first ever mold,so i think it was unavoidable.

Stay tunned for more molds, skulls and other stuffs!

Ok so i've decided to use the middle sized skulls and not the big ones, because of various balance problems.

Its coming along nicely.

So those will be Slaughterfiends while in an Apoc game, and Khornfilers with 4 CCW.

Have to finish the seconde one and begin the third for tommorow for a big 20k pts game!!

See ya

Hi, i've done a bit of work on my Slaugtherfiends.

http://a.imageshack.us/img507/3737/img0984c.th.jpg

Here you can see that i've made 2 additional molds, one is the old frontal plate from the old metal Juggers.

Its one of the things that i regret from the old Juggers, but anyway now i can cast it as many times as i want.

I've also made a mold from the lower jaw of the Apocalypse canon from WHB.

Here's a pic from the Khornfiler with tha Canon/Bucler arm.

http://a.imageshack.us/img39/7821/img0985zv.th.jpg

As you will see each Khornfiler as the Battle canon on a different part of the body,to make them a bit more unique from each others

Group shot

The Khornfiler with the canon under his skull.

Khornfiler with the canon on his Scoprion like tail.

And another group shot.

Now i must find substitues for the 3 remaining arms and put a Zerker Ridder on the 'filers.

See ya for more updates
