A game of stupid proportions

So yesterday (Sunday) I had my first proper game with my new Wolves. It was really just an excuse for me and my opponent (Lord Andreas) to try out our new army/list.We went for Pitched Battle Annihilation at 1000 points and I will say now that is very quickly dissolved into chaos. Here is a run down of the armies:

Me:-Rune Priest

-x2 10 Blood Claws

-10 Grey Hunters

-5 Wolf Guard

Him:-Wolf Guard Battle Leader on Thunderwolf

-x2 Rune Priests

-x3 10 Grey Hunters

-4 Wolf Guard

As you can guess the first few turns were just both of us denying the other any psychic attacks, although chortles were had when all 3 rune priests consecutively failed there perils of the warp test :)

He also managed to gun down 3 of my Wolf Guard before they got into combat.

The first combat was a mighty on with the Wolf Guard Battle Leader charging my 10 Blood Claws and Rune Priest, unfortunatley I dont think he was counting on them counter charging and getting 34 attacks. And yep, he had a thunder hammer. Lets just say things got very messy before the thunder hammer was even raised.

The second combat was a bit more close cut, with his wolf guard and rune priest battling my Grey Hunters (which were joined by the other 10 Blood Claws) for 3 turns, although eventually the Grey Hunter won through and the last terminator fell, although I was only left with 2 grey hunters and 5 Blood Claws they didn't flee.

The final combat was quite possibly the biggest one to occur ever in the store. It strated with my 2 Wolf Guard Terminators chargin his 10 Grey Hunters, the thunder hammer fell quick but the Wolf Claws could not be slain! This was followed in the same turn by the Rune Prielaws charging the same pack of Grey hunters. Even with all my attacks I could only slay 3 all together and he slew 2 Blood Claws. Next turn the combat went big as his other 2 grey hunter packs joined the fray (unfortunately the Wolf Guard vs Grey Hunters meant I couldn't ass more men). As I recall he killed 6 Blood Claws and I killed 7 grey hunters from different squads.

The battle ended on turn 4 as Andreas had to get a bus so we quickly counted up the points and I won 3-0!!! I had slain the Battle Leader, 1 Rune Priest and his Wolf Guard, and although I had suffered very heavy casualties (losing about half my force) he had unfortunately been unsuccessful in killiing any squad or character outright!!! Yay me!

So first game a victory, not bad me thinks.

PS I know you hate me now Andreas but you are a great guy to play with and a great tactician, it's just that you use those stupid skull dice which are too light and boxy to roll properly! :)

Sounds like a fun game.

Personally I can't stand those skull dice, it's too hard to see what they roll...

Maybe I'm slow but how did you get 34 attacks on a counter charge from 1 unit of Blood Claw??

You aren't slow; maximum of 30 attacks for 10 Blood Claws, if all were Engaged and got to swing. 29 if one had a Fist.
