mrun0riginal
I'm in the process of trying to build Sven Bloodhowl's great company. However, the only problem I have is what specialisation Sven goes for. I know it says they like fire, but a different wolf lord uses all the flamers and melta's. From reading the entry, I get the feeling that Sven uses a lot of combat troops. I am also planning to make him a personal wolf guard unit that 'spit fire' ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209263-sven-bloodhowl/ Share on other sites
Jonny
"Bloodhowl goes to war amidst a great hoard of close combat specialists, and legend has it that his vanguard will breath flames into the ranks of their foe, laughing evilly as the close in for the kill." Sounds like CC with maybe some flamers/meltas in your Wolf Guard if you like, since the flames by the vanguard could be them actually breathing flames by some other means or it could be flamers/meltas Regards Jonny Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209263-sven-bloodhowl/#findComment-2496662 Share on other sites
S. Bloodhowl
I'm doing Sven's company as well and totally agree with the whole Combat heavy idea. Just to help you on your way, here is a rundown of my list: HQ: Wolf Lord Sven: Terminator Armour, Frost axe, Storm Shield, Saga of a Warrior Born, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Talisman Rune Priest: Runic Armour, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Talisman Elites: 5 Wolf Guard: Terminators, Wolf Claw Pair, Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield, Wolf Claw and Storm Shield, Assault Cannon and Power Fist, Chainfist, Drop Pod 5 Wolf Scouts: Melta and Power Weapon Ven. Dreadnought: Plasma Cannon, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Talisman Troops: x2 10 Blood Claws: Power Weapon 10 Grey Hunters: Power Weapon, Flamer, Melta, Wulfen, Wolf Standard As you can see it is very comabt heavy but has some shooting to cover it's advance. Hope this helps Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209263-sven-bloodhowl/#findComment-2496828 Share on other sites

Aeddon
Also read the Wolf Lord entry, it tells a little bit more about how he became a Wolf Lord (IIRC) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209263-sven-bloodhowl/#findComment-2497171 Share on other sites
Blitzkreig
Well it says that as a Wolf Lord Sven decided to jump out of a Thunderhawk onto a hive city, crack his way in with his Thunder Hammer and hunt down a Rogue Psyker... badass. Truth be told lately I have been using a list which focuses around ODSTs and it uses 4 Grey Hunter Packs (2 shooty, 2 assaulty), 2 Wolf Guard Packs (1 rolls with Sven, 1 rolls with Njal) and a few Land Speeders... everything in Drop Pods of course. It works out well with a bit of luck... otherwise everything comes in all over the place. But I do have some problems with Anti-Tank... of course I own 2 Predators and 2 Vindicators but I try to avoid them in the Drop list.
