Drop Pods in Planetstrike

I checked the Planetstrike FAQ and found it wanting... My question is can a unit of Grey Hunters or a Drop Pod assault on the turn it lands in a Drop Pod in a game of Planetstrike???

No as the unit itself does not have deepstrike only that pod, in addition that pod count as having moved 12" and so follows the same rules as a Rhino for units disembarking from it.

As they deepstrike inside the Pod, I always figured no, they can't assault. That is totally dumm in my opinion, but then again, it's GW :) . Let's hear the old Long Fangs and their opinions.

Actually the Planetstrike rules address the drop pod issue directly- models with the deep strike rule may assault the turn they appear, *not* units who deep strike via a transport.
