Redfinger
So I have been playing 40k for about 3 months, my first army is Black Templar, and though they have been fun, I really don't think they jive with my playing style. Almost all the models I bought are still unpainted and some unassembled so it wouldn't be hard to pull a switch. For the past 3 weeks I have been playing some BA games using my BT 's as proxy. I have to say that I feel like I enjoy the BA a bit better, it seems to fit my style more, better mobility, and redundancy. Now that being said, I totally love the BT look and the gothic churchy feel, I see how this could work visually na BA army as long as it wasn't overdone. So I have been stewing over some ideas fr a successor chapter that uses BA rules and history, but has a Templar look, coming up with a name has been a struggle. So far I thought of; Black Angles or Angelous Templas( Latin for aangels of the temple) So what do you guys think, am I barking up the wrong tree, or do you have some name ideas that you would like to share Ashton
bulley
Trying to come up with the a name and fluff for mine as well atm. It seems easy in theory doesnt it lol. Angelous Templas I quite like - its a bit different which is cool - if you have some fluff around that it could work nicely. Black Angels is not so great though. BrotherMoses
I would suggest playtesting your army, what pieces you want to use, and what playstyle you want to use first. Inspiration usually hits me midgame. Otherwise how about "Sanguine Crusaders" or something along those lines.
Haunter!
Chapter names aren't too hard. Just pick your theme: Knights from a temple; and have a nod to your progenitor Chapter: Blood Angels, obviously. Sanguine Templars? (I'd also like to take this chance to say that Knights of Blood have yet to be represented in true force amongst the community. Something to think about <_< )
Mudpuppet
Blood Paladins? seems to fit your crusade and blood angels tick boxes. Mudpuppet
Redfinger
These are some nice suggestions guys..I think I may have it though. On page 54 o the Codex it briefly talk about the "Knights Sanguine", that they were a successor chapter that was "consumed by war" I like the ring the name has to it. I think the robes, tabards and crosses all contribute to a "knightly" look, and it has "official" roots that I can draw from. I do think I will tone down the chains a bit on some of the models, maybe remove the bolter and sword chains as best as possible. I also have the black templar upgrade packs that have the shoulder pouldrons and other fluff. I think the emblem would be the iron cross emblazoned on wings w/ a single blood drop emblazoned on the iron cross, or for simplicity sakes I can give one puoldron the Blood Angel decal and the other have the Iron cross....I will have to play around with it a bit. But thanks again for the feedback
BLACK BLΠFLY
Knights Sanguine sounds pretty good to me. Should be a very nice looking army with the conversions. 0b
