Dark Bjoern

Recommended Posts

Hey man this is all looking really really good. The raptors are wicked cool, the dreadnought is just fantastic. Really inspiring. Makes me wanna make one myself :thanks: and the painting is very good stuff. The only criticism I have (and it's stupid, you dont have to listen cuz it's probably a personal thing) but the names of the Land Raider and Dreadnought dont really work for me. They sound like Concubine and Glucose, not exactly the most fear-inspiring things I can think of :pirate:

I start adding the first details on the daemon head.

That´s only the first impressions. The rough work is done. Now i have to add the details. And believe me, that´s a lot left to do. Cables, tubes and trophies, filling the gasps and so on.......

Lovely work Dark Bjoern...

I'm loving the Raptors - a brilliant idea which I may have to steal it for my Fallen. The GS on the Vindi is great, and the jet bikes are very cool.

The landraider looks like its gonna be suitable terrifying. Question for you though - the faces look almost flush to the sides of the 'raider. I know you used GS to blend the joins, but did you thin out those panels at all? If so, how did you manage it?

Looking forward to seeing these in the Hall of Honour.

Cheers

Thanks, Brothers.

@Widowmaker: You could find the LR already in the Hall of Honour: 5th Company of the Night Lords. For the small armour plates with the twisted faces i cutted holes into the armour and glued the plates in. Then i filled small gasps with GS. For the assault ramp i thinned the spiked plates out with a Dremel.

Exactly. I used the engine exhaust and for the air intake the lower armour of the DE jetbike. I need ten DE bikes for my 5 pre-heresy jetbikes. Actual it´s quit easy to get them cheap. All DE plyers wanna get the new one.

That was what I was thinking as well =D Gonna have a chat with my local DE-player.

They look really good, btw, but I guess you figured since I want to copy the design =D

- Natanael

Copy them if you like, i don´t mind.

This is great. I've been reading from this site for a while and just now signed up. I love Night Lords, & their book. (Hence the name)

great work so far.

I do agree though...they ARE trying to stay away from the "Mutations" of chaos, so the panels of faces on the land raider might not be so good an idea.

So today i´ve done a lot. I worked on the details: Air Intake, Backpacks, Trophies, the big black hole at the underside in the rear fender and on the wings. I gave the wings the basic shape of batwings. On monday i will buy some other sculpting mass called Magic Sculp to finish the wings. This stuff will become much harder then GS and it´s better for sculpting details.

I love your conversions. The winged jump packs will be copied, unles you object.

Could you tell me what parts you used for the dreadnought? I see a ven dread fist and possibly lascannon, the greaves seem to be from the normal SM dread but what's the rest?

Ok, i finished the details and primed the models. I used a new sculpting mass, Magic Sculp. It´s some interresting stuff. It´s like GS a two component sculpting mass. It doesn´t stick like GS, it´s very soft and light. When it is dry it´s really hard and you can form real sharp edges. And you can mix it with GS. I like it.

@Quixus: Feel free to copy them  .

The dread is a normal SM dread with a lot of plastcard, GS and some bass strings.

The wings are from a bretonian helmet from WHF. The helmet is from the CSM box.

You´re right about the DCCW. It´s the one from the ven dread. I used small nail head for the studs on the shoulder guard. The rest is plastcard.

The fingers are cut into pieces at the joints to stretch them a bit. For the finger tips i used Tyranid bits cut into shape and GS to fill all the small gasps.

The Lascannon is from FW
