ThatGingerDude
I have been wanting to include arjac in my list for a while. And so, hence the question, is arjac worth it? He looks nails but is he point effectve? How does he perform in battle? I await your advice. -Ginger Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209553-arjac-rockfist/ Share on other sites
The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
from experience he seems to be balls to the walls however he must go after enemy characters to make back points or even be that much use otherwise hes just an over expensive thunderhammer termie for the price of 3-4. as with many of the special characters hes way way way overpriced for what he is and considering you have to take at least 2 other wolf guard he starts to pack on points. if you want to use him in a fun game great however its hard to justify him in a competitive list. Wysten
You could have a Thunder Wolf pack for his cost, 3 Thunder Wolves, 15 attacks on the charge, 5 of these thunderhammer, 6 wounds, toughness 5 and a hammer with 8 points to spare due to the Wolf Guard he replaced. For 4 attacks at most? He's simply not worth it. Even his weight in thunder hammer units is probably more threatening. If he had another wound and higher WS to make him a monster in combat, he could of been great, but as he is he's just too much for too little. If you want a hammer, you tool out a Wolf Guard or 2 already in the pack. Chances are he will do much the same job for considerably cheaper. mschrieb
I have used him on numerous occasions and I have nothing but success with him. Sure I play a lot against Deamons and he is great for killing bloodthirsters, but he has mages his points back every time. To counter some of the negative point made about him. 1) He doesn't need higher weapon skill, he has WTN, so 3+ to hit can't get any better. 2) He doesn't need an exta wound as he is not independant character, which means, as a wolf guard, we join almost any unit and and have no fear of being killed off before he gets a chance to do anything. 3) He gets 5 attacks on a charge, or any first round of combat for that matter. Personnaly, I run him with full unit of grey hunters in a redemer and I just need to get one good charge off and he is good. And don't fret about needing to take a land raider, cause the raider is free to burn up the rest of the field. I hate the idea of having my big awesome HQ killed in the first round of combat. That's why I orginally considered taking him. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209553-arjac-rockfist/#findComment-2499911 Share on other sites
wolfpack
Honestly??...I dunno I have fielded him in a few battles and he has performed mediocre...when added to a pack or just upgraded into a WGT pack he does alright but not sure justifying his points cost for his accomplishments is actually worth it...he is FUN to play but do his points hash out??....I would have to agree that for the points i would go with the TWC unit...and just bump a couple of my existing WGT with a hammer...still...he is FUN to play...so I guess it depends on your style...for tourney games or comps...no I wouldn't justify his points as you can add the pack and have three times the attacks...but for fun??...heck yeah Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209553-arjac-rockfist/#findComment-2502247 Share on other sites
