TH + LC on RAS sergeants

Hey there!

I was considering arming my RAS sarges with TH and a LC after getting mauled last game by nids. The idea is that while a TH/PF is pretty much mandatory to be competitive, also having a LC would be advantageous when I have a SP nearby to give FC. Having 3 S9 stirking at I1 doesn't seem as useful in most instances compared to 3 I5, S5 (with rerolls) hits.

Thoughts?

Way too expensive, in my opinion. For the cost, might as well go with a storm shield instead of one of the weapons.

That was my first thought, but then I figured, when am I going to get a use out of the SS? Even if I get just 1 armour save-ignoring hit, I'm not sure I'd risk putting it on my sarge - one failed save and I've just lost my TH.

Today I realized that we can take dual LC's on the sargs. I must have been blind and stupid not to see it before. Usually I run a librarian with one of my RAS and make that an Epistolary with rage and sword and then the power fist seems quite unecessary in that squad. A sarg with dual lightning claws would be awesome in that RAS. ^_^

Most of all he would look cool. Thats enough for me.

Giving him both a TH and LC feels like overkill, no, not overkill. Just wrong. If you're gonna spend 45pts, make it 50 and give him two power fists instead. That would also be totally awesome and then you'd be overkilling the right way! :woot:

25 pts is costly for just +1A. At least the LC gives extra flexibility.

I have to admit that it feels... off.
