fandon
I was wondering what people have experienced with non GW wolf models for thunderwolf cavalry in tournaments? I know that usually it 50% of a model has to be GW but I heard that is going away some and that there are definite exceptions because there are no models. I am thinking about ordering a set of some on the suggestion thread but didnt want to be denied at a tournament. Skarvald the Troll-faced
I know for a fact that Adepticon accepts them. Their policy states that as long as a conversion maintains the theme of the army, is not a pre-painted toy, has the right dimensions and looks good on the table it will be allowed. Obviously you need to have some GW parts on it too. Grimtooth
I have seen Paulson Games, Mr Dandy, the Russian Lady's, and used my own Mythicast at tournaments and have not run into a single problem. Simo429
Seen Mr Dandy models at Warhammer world with no problem and I also plan to use my own mythicast ones and have informed the tournament organisers and have been told there is no issues. GeoWolf
Oh Praise the All Father! I was thinking about going to Adepticon next year, and was wondering about thunder wolves. With this new knowledge, thanks to Skarvald, The wolves of Russ may yet make an appearance! It seems to be a pattern that they are releasing more models later but daemons took over 2 years before they got the rest of their models that had been shown in multiple pictures before and we havnt even seen a picture yet. Requiem of the Wolf
Im fairly sure RPR is joking lol. The chances of GW actually managing to get those models out is slim. FW might as they are suposed to have SW featured in IA 11. fandon
How likely would it be with FW coming out with them then? and would they be tournament legal in everything like 'ard boyz? Also when is IA 11 coming? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209607-wolf-models-in-tournies/#findComment-2502683 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Oh... a year and a half... or so. And yes, FW models count as GW models for the purposes of 50%+. Max_Dammit
I feel FW and GW have missed the boat on this, I will get them as i want every SW model out there, but most novice player will just use the once they have rather than pay 3X what they have will cost. And the SW book will be so old its on the back of the line again before they make the models, that not a lot players will get in to SW at that point. (*Dreams of the day the new SW dex is 10 years old) uhmm.. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209607-wolf-models-in-tournies/#findComment-2502863 Share on other sites

Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
Damn internets all not displaying what I thought was obvious sarcasm. Didn't mean to rub your fur the wrong way!! I know nothing about the supposed official release. Requiem of the Wolf knows what I'm saying, but then again he actually knows me too... -R_P_R Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/209607-wolf-models-in-tournies/#findComment-2505261 Share on other sites
Durfast Spiritwolf
I used the Mr Dandy ones at a weekend event at WHW in May and the organisers/GW staff were quite happy. Actually, Phil Kelly popped down and had a look at them - he promised that good things come to those that wait... Durfast Spiritwolf
Steady little brother. I didn't even recognise the guy - just thought he was another random chap hanging around the tables. It wasn't as if he even had a big badge on or anything! Still, this was in May and still no sign of any hairy blokes on big dogs...
