Daemonic Heralds

I tried searching for this, but I did not see anything that answers my questions.

The primary question: I am going to start building two heralds of Tzeentch on chariots. I am debating what figure to use as a herald of Tzeentch. So I was wondering what do others use? I've seen horrors, fantasy champs/sorcerers of Tzeentch, flamers, and all sorts of things. I am interested in what the good folks of this forum use.

Right now, I am debating between a horror, a converted Chaos Warrior, or a converted Chaos Sorcerer.

The question, by extension, becomes, "What do folks use for other heralds?" There are bits in the plastic kits that make champions, but they don't seem to stand out enough. Khorne and Slaanesh can use Skulltaker and the Masque.

Mainly, I am just curious as to what others use.

Well, for my pair of foot-trodding Tzeentch Heralds in my Tzeentch/Slaanesh demon army, I used the bodies of 3rd edition daemonettes that I did not have the arms for anymore, then fashioned crude flamer style arms with green stuff and a cut up paper clip, then during the painting process free handing Tzeentch marks on their behinds (;)). The results look fairly good, considering it was first time using green stuff for more than filling gaps/filling in slotta bases/making roundish rocks.

Am looking at using the same process on the several other armless 'nettes I have about to make a unit of "horrors" out of them to continue the theme I have for my army.

For Tzeench I use a really old chaos sorcerer that has been stuck with me for almost 15 years but I have found that there are several great models in the Fantasy battle range at GW. They even have a Tzeench sorcerer on disc so you might want to check that out.

If the link is broken try searching on the site for Lord of Tzeench and you find it. Might have to log in for that since its in the collector range. Alot of great models for Heralds there.

Great thing is that all of the ideas you suggested work fine. I use a Horror Champion (heavily converted) for a Tzeentch Herald and oput him on a converted Screamer (showing the transformation into a disk), a Chaos Champion of Nurgle for a Nurgle Herald, a Bloodletter Champion for my Herald of Nurgle, etc...

You get the point, I do though take the time to add to the base model since these are obviously the chosen of their respective Gods and should stand out against other of their ilk. Use what you got and be creative, that is the best part about playing a Daemon army!
