Serath
Greetings Brothers The deathstar unit is one loved by many players, i put this topic up as a way for you to showcase your ulitimate unit of angely death that you use to make your oponets jaw drop at how many wounds they have just taken I propose a small contest, you have 500 points whith which you can spend on any single unit, then other ba players can test roll, copy your great idea and offer surgestions on improvement or just comend you on your diabolical genious. i propose this as the base layout: Asoroth the grim - 220 points X - Death company - JP PW X points then you can leave a comment about what it has achived and we can all enjoy how you killed Abaddon and a whole terminater unit in one attack round for example. by the way if you have a unit you have which costs more that you want to showcase then feel free to put it down and we can look at a 3k squad of death company or somerthing equaly scary :) also i will post my own surgestion soon, i dont havea dex at the moment.....lost it at gw 2 days ago after a game with my SW m8, he is probubly creating a ba kill list which isnt hard seing as mine is mostly jump infantry, so 2 rune priests making ds imposible with lots of long fangs ready to eat them up....dam i just worked it out for him, anyway i digress... so get your deathstar unit ready for expert scruitany, but everyones opinion is equaly valid and all that :) Reguards Serath

Brother-Captain Devlonir
I'm currently still in the process of painting my 'Deathstar'. Not sure if it is actually still less than 500 pts (don't have the codex with me) but it is: Dante Sang Guard + Chapter Banner + Infernus pistol Sang Priest + JP + Power sword It's mobile (hit and run) shooty (angelus boltguns) tough (FNP, 2+ save) and brings a lot of wounds on the charge before most can do anything back (FC) Still.. it's no anti-Deathstar unit. I got a 9 man DC + Chaplain in a fast Rhino for that ;-)
Serath
I use as my dc as my deathstar, going to get a vanguard vet squad as my anti deathstar because in a few games the dc have been lead astray by me making silly mistakes  here is the dc: 1x Reclusiarc 7xbolter dc 2x pw dc 1x pf dc in a LRC just over 600 points if you include the transport but the unit is around 450 points just point it in the direction of your opponent and watch whatever they attck die I am also playtesting a libby lead bike squad of around 7 bikers, did well against dark angels but did all die horribly to plazma cannon fire, if anyone had any experiance with this type of sqad could they offer me some advice Thanks Serath
Joasht
My "old Deathstar" which I ran with the 3rd edition codex was a full squad of Honor Guard with jump packs, Lightning Claws and Stormshields, lead by the Sanguinary High Priest. It was exceptionally killy and considerably resilient, despite Stormshields being nowhere as good as they are today. IIRC the squad was about 700-900 points though :) Also for laughs, I used to take the same squad in an Army of Death list. The Army of Death was a Chapter Approved list from an old White Dwarf that made everyone Death Company, so they also had Feel No Pain. Good times. On the plus side, its entirely possible to copy that squad in the new codex. 10 Vanguard Vets, same equipment, lead by a Reclusiarch, trailed by a Sanguinary Priest. 895 points, I think if my mental math is correct (on medication at the moment, so it might be off). Crazy? Yes. Will it work? Probably not. But sometimes, it feels good when it works, and that one squad murders an entire army themselves...... Ok to wound; oh by the way, I'm S5 *Roll* Oh I reroll these because of my Lightning Claws. Oh and you don't get armor saves. Alright, you attacking me with power weapons? I have an invul save......." I always preferred Chappy/Assault Terms in a LR Crusader in the old days. Nowadays, I would go Reclusiarch/SP/LC Terminator Assault Squad in Crusader, but DC Dreads with BT's do the job much better. Joasht
I never really liked Land Raiders in the past as I played against Eldar very often, and Bright Lances really mess them up :/

Brother Nathan
mine was an assault squad, 2 flamers, powerweapon, handflamer, melta bombs priest, powerweapon, jump packs chaplin jumppack. i only realised after they got wiped out accidentially that they took up half my points. everyone overlooked them as they were troops. they got charged by a full khorn bezerker squad, took no casultys, killed the bezerkes, then wen on to flame some back legion to death and were about to take on 20 more if i got another turn... good times... Here they are, the squad on the left... http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s317/generalhazard_album/models/P6080617.jpg
