Hi Chaps,

I've got Sicarius finished this morning and here are a few pictures of the figure:

I'm very pleased with how the miniature turned out in the end. Roughly speaking this figure took me four days to paint or the equivalent of two weekends which is fairly quick for me. I don't know if using the masterclass guide in White Dwarf would be considered cheating but I found that certain areas such as the gems and working up the cloak useful. I've also tried to tie certain colours to the figure such as Regal Blue and Space Wolves Grey which was used from the armour to the robes and the banner. Hopefully it looks okay. I was also brave and tried a minor freehand on the inside of the cloak - nothng that sophisticated but this may be the start of me moving out of my comfort zone. What do you lot think?

as long as it doesn't hold the paint brush for you

It's actualy one of my favorite detail on that model!

i'm not sure but I think something is missing on the left shoulder pad, it looks too plain white.

Good work on the overall!

Thanks for the comments. I think that the painting master class is a great element of White Dwarf and wished that it was in every issue wheather for Warhammer, LoTR or 40K.

In terms of the white shoulderpad I went with what the guide said. Most of my Ultras have a chequers pattern somewhere on the armour but I felt that this mold is a little busy and the design might have got in the way.

Cheers,

Oli

Cheers for your comments. I'll see about adding some chequers to the visible shoulderpad.

In terms of this miniature. He comes with two heads - the helmeted version and face with hair. The figure also comes with an alternative hand holding his helmet.

Well done! Sicarius is a great model (and a fun challenge to paint, as well), and you did a really good job. On his left shoulderpad, the "spikes" around the skull look like they're painted white, and that makes it look a bit too much like a mass of white to me. That is the only criticism I have, however, and a minor one at that. I love the freehand you did on the inside of the cloak, maybe one day I'll work up the courage to revisit my Sicarius to add something similar!
