Blood Angels Battleforce

Hello!

This is my first thread here and I apologize if I got someone excited about there might being information about a battleforce in here. I am wondering that same thing myself; are there any rumours if the Blood Angels will receive a battleforce of their own? The Space Wolves got on and generic Space Marines have one aswell.

Reason why I am wondering is that I have plans to buy the Space Marine battleforce and a box of Death Company to bolster my army. Although I may change my mind about that if a battleforce would emerge containing some Blood Angels awesomeness!

Thankful for responses!

For all intents and purposes, I have heard nothing from anyone on the intertubes saying that BA will be getting a battleforce.

I agree, it would be nice. However, I was under the impression that there wouldn't be one despite how awesome the DC and SG boxes were.

But It would be a good move if they were to make one. They could give you 1 10x tac squad, 1 5x assault squad, a DC box and either a drop pod or razorback/rhino with 1 extra DC sprue to for extra bits (after you make 5 DC, the sprue wouldn't have enough for 15 more marines).

Don't think so my friend.

Buy Space Marines Battleforce and Death Company boxes to make a Blood Angels force.

Works fine.

P.S.:Altough I rather use all DC bits to make my Blood Angels, yeah, it takes hell of my money, but it's awesome in the table.

I think the combination of a Space Marine Battleforce and a box of Death company will make a very suitable force. With a bit of conversion work you can make:

5 footslogging Assault Marines

5 jump pack Assault Marines

10 Tacticals

5 Death Company

1 Rhino

In addition to this I have 8 old Death Company bodies which will likely be 5 Vanguards and 3 adittional Death Company. I think this is a good way to bolster a Blood Angels army.

Actually you can make 10 JP Assault marines, since you get 5 norm JP + 5 DC JP from the box, which are a good mix for making up a squad.

Probably the biggest issue you face is that you are very light on meltaguns.

For the awesome look I generally mix DC with normal models 1:1.

Yeah I could make 5 additional Assault Marines but I was planning to combine the DC jump packs with the old dc models to make some vanguards. I have 5 Assault Marines from earlier endeavours in the 40 k universe already.

I was planning on ordering the meltaguns from gw along with the other stuff, been reading alot about them meltaguns here and it makes sense to use them :thanks:.

I'll post a thread on kitting these guys out when I eventueally purchase them, got a lot of minis in que before I buy anything new. Right now working on the ultra awesome chaplain in terminator armor mini!

Thanks for all the replies!

Might be worth ordering from a discount online shop, it helps reduce the cost a bit when your kitbashing.

For the specific weapons like PG/MG its certainly worth getting them from GWS tho.

I use Wayland which generally seems the best price with shipping to Oz, not sure how it compares for Europe tho, guess it depends on the exchange rate, the Euro normally is pretty strong tho.

Hey guys!

Thanks for all the tips on discount places, problem is though that I live in Sweden and I guess that shipping will outweight the savings really... Therefore I will most likely purchase it all from my local Games Workshop.

Bushman101: Thanks for the advice! Have already gotten the AoBR and I do have some nice minis from when collecting Blood Angels in my teens (10 years ago). Main reasons for me getting the BF and DC is to build and convert and to expand my troops. Being able to make about 8 DC with that is just a bonus

As a fellow swede I'd recommend you to check out Rogue Traders forum, there's always someone selling stuff there. And if you live close to stockholm you should visit Dragon's Lair (Rogue Traders playground), there we have a bit box for pretty much anyone to pick stuff from if they feel like it. You can of course play as well if you'd like. ;)

I've heard about other communitys of swedish warhammer players but I can't seem to recall the name. Both Umeå and Göteborg should have one.

Zarnak: How wonderful to encounter a fellow Swede in this part of the cyberspace! I do live in Göteborg and I do know of a gaming club that I plan to visit some day. But first of all I will mostly play my friend who is just starting his Eldar army.

Thanks for the forum you recomended, I will have a looksie :P.

I wonder though if I can buy Warhammer of GW in GBP instead of SEK? If I would buy a Battleforce in GBP I would save about 170 SEK from the original 750 SEK. Maybe not posible though...

I don't know about that although you could order from the swedish youth organisation Alpha Spel, their goal is to sell GW stuff (and more I think) for the same amount a shop would pay to GW. In short, no added price to make a profit. I think you will have to pay for mail order though since you don't have access to the store in Stockholm. :D

EDIT : Not sure about the pre-retail prices but atleast it is A LOT cheaper than buying from GW (which has the highest retail prices of all the local retailers I've seen. It's just about 10 SEK in price difference though).

While I was overseas I ordered some meltaguns from GW's website. My wife tossed them in my army case. Came home to 5 meltaguns inside my army case as expected. Then a few days ago, while she was looking for something in a purse she rarely uses, she hands me a small package of 5 meltaguns... I've heard of GW overshipping before, and I'd have to say I'm a fan of the practice.

But to stay on topic, I bought a box of Sanguinary Guard and Death Company as my "battleforce". The Sanguinary Guard turned into extra DC, 2 Sanguinary Priests, and a load of bitz to pimp my other units with. The Death Company Box is even better, with 2 infernus pistols, 2 plasma pistols, and 2 hand flamers, plus backpacks and jump packs, tons of heads, and the CCW arms are amazing. I don't use TAC squads anymore, but I'd use the DC bolter arms if I did.
