Serath
Greetings brothers, I think we have all had the idea about making 3jp dc and lemartes and running them around so lemartes can have his wound blown off and still have 3 more through the jp dc so he can still be alive after he has eaten his way though the first squad. However is this a viable and competative way to play him? I run my local club on wednesday and im going to try: 1x lemartes 2x jp dc 1x jp pf dc the pf is there just incase i have to charge a tank with the range i have on the charge, anyway i would love comments and critisisum about this little idea we are all chewing over and what way you would play it? in storm raven, ds or just run them in? Brother-Captain Devlonir
I'd say.. make it a little bit bigger, add 2 more DC with at least one PW, and possibly both. Just adds a bit more to the 'oomph' of the squad and gives a bit more buffer vs plasma weapons. And then i'd just place them where i want them and have them jump forward, being a nice bullet magnet as the rest of your army also advances. And if the enemy chooses to ignore your DC, more kudos for you as they will get that much wanted charge off.
WarpWalker
serath- Running Lemartes that way is fine. A lot of players do l hear with success. For that unit cost you could afford Mephy. I promise you he'll win you back more points. I believe you should follow Devlonir's advice. Death company are more fun in larger numbers.
Joasht
The whole problem with small squads is the 5th ed Killpoint thingy as opposed to the old victory points; given that the BA already have many sources of easy Killpoints, adding one more might be a problem. If it wasn't because of the risk involved in having many individual units, I'd be one of those insane people with several Priests (by several I mean like more than three) just to make *absolutely* sure I almost-always have their buffs :X
Nordaris
I don't think that a conception of Little Death Company is Right. They are really very useful unit, but when i've been making my rosters, i was thinking about Death Guard as a Core unit. Their Black Rage rule is a real priblem. That's why i ve made them universal in all sights. But with such little squad i think they are too easy target.
