There is a mearge of the ground between the two, especially when it comes to GW chapters that have not been fluffed out. If you are seeking other Storm Giant players, you are more likely to find them in Index Astartes instead of Liber, however when you get onto the intention of this thread, Liber will be the place to be as it is about creating fluff.

Well I guess theres no Storm Giants players around.

How about 'experts' on writing an IA article for an official GW chapter that has just a little official fluff out there for them? I need a few tips. Theres guides out there for doing a DIY chapter, but nothing like this.

When I get to a working PC tomorrow(my laptops busted) I'll post all the notes I have.

There isn't a great deal to gon on when it comes to the Storm Giants.

They are considered a "possible" successor of the Salamanders (not confirmed) because they have a similar physique ( eaceptionally large and well-muscled...even for a Space Marne) and share a similar tactical dogma (prefering close-ranged firefights with emphasis on melta nd flamer weaponry). Beascially, they were a DIY Chapter of a GW staffer who used the Salamander rules for them back in 3rd edition.

There may be a few more tidbits around here or there - but this should give you a foundation to start with.

Maybe some input from some Sallie players about tactics then?

As I said, Ive got some notes whuch I'll post, and one thing I had down was their combat doctrine was a mix of the Sallies siege warfare; Vindicators and such. This was drawn from the pic in Codex: Armageddon of a Storm Giants squad with a Vindicator. It seemed like the natural way to go. But its about translating that and describing how and why.

This isn't about finding what info there is on them. I have that. It's about the finer points of tactics, history. How, why, what etc and putting that in into an Index Astartes article. Obviously theres only a certain amount people can help with, and a lot of the ideas will have to come from me, but I've not done something like this before, and will need help on how to think, and how to write about it.
