wolf363839
The color scheme is awesome. How did you do the lining on on the red? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/210254-grey-slayers/#findComment-2505258 Share on other sites
rodgambit
Thanks. I appreciate the nice replies. I use the mechrite red foundation over black primer. Then I use 1 or 2 layers of blood red over that. Once that is done I wash heavy with badab black and then i go back with thin layers of blood red until I like the way it looks. Hemal
Colour scheme is good, I like the blend on teh grey - but one REALLY bad point - file away your mould lines - sometimes I only notice them when I have undercoated, but still I file them away where I can.. rodgambit
Which mould lines are you referring to? Could you be more clear please :D If you mean the bumps along the bases then ya I guess I could have tried to smooth that down. I originally used elmer's style glue to put all the basing on but it started peeling up on the edges so I had to go back and reseal everything with super glue which caused those bumps. I probably could go back and redo the base edges but I also have 50+ more models to paint..heh. jpwyrm
Nice start! I'm also going to paint my wolves in 13th Coy colours. May I ask were you got the 13th Coy transfer or how you made/painted it? Nice job, keep it up! rodgambit
I just found them on ebay over a course of about 2 years and paid anywhere from 3-10 per sheet. One sheet has 20 of the main 13th logo and I think 10 of each squad. I use one for longfangs, one for stormclaws and 4 squad markings for grey slayers. The arms - they show quite badly on them, especially when there is a lovely paint job on em...
