Thinking about Justicars + Armory

Hi everyone!!!

Since reading an Topic in a German Forum I was thinking about something............or better was "directet" to something I might oversee 'till now.

Theme/Topic of that Fred is for no interest......before someone ask.

The Point is, i've find out something VERY Interesting....for me.

In our Armory it is written that EVERY Character Modell CAN have 2 Weapons, from witch one CAN be two-handed.......so long for that, clear and to be handled as written! OK for that.

Now lets handle, for example, an Purgator Squad with that:

As per Codex the Justicar is an CHARACTER, witch means for me he can get a PSI-Cannon (wich is two-handed), an still has his NPW! Not as an "normal" PAGK who will lose his NPW if he gets an PSI-Cannon.........

And as this is per Codex, an Purgator Squad can have 5 (!) PSI-Cannons!!!

NPW means: Nemesis Psi-Weapon....

Am I right?? Or did I oversee something?

Grey Knights in Power Armour can't purchase Weapons from the Armory.

Some folk might allow you to purchase Artificer Armour or Carapce Armour for your Justicar, and then as he's no longer in Power Armour, buy him weapons.

Some say you can't do this, as the armoury purchase happen at the same time, but you can always reference the Purchase of Terminator Armour, and it's restriction on purchasble wargear in counter to that.

A Justicar IS a Character, an CAN buy Weapos/Items from the Armoury..................????

Nope; check the blurb at the top of the armory page; it specifically says that power-armored Grey Knights don't get to buy weapons (though they can buy non-weapon wargear).

Sorry, Hinti. ;) The RAW is pretty clear on this one.

Even if you could, you do realize how many points you'd be sinking into the unit? Is an extra psycannon really worth 80 pts? (The price of the Justicar + his psycannon.) The Justicar is what makes any GK unit fearsome in assault. Take that away from a Purgation squad -- which has a bunch of overpriced normal Astartes -- and I can't see how it would ever be worth it.

If you like psycannons, take basic 5-man Troops units with a pair and call it a day. Purgation squads have always been a terrible idea that should never have ever been used, and that is only more true today than when the codex was first released.

Sense or Non-sense of an 5 PSI-Cannon Squad is/was not the Question...........

You think the RAW is pretty clear?? I think so no, not as clear as you mean...

(If I'm wrong, i've no Problem with that........that's why we have Forums) eh... ;) ;) :D

Lets try a other way:

Pro:

1. A Justicar IS a Charakter

2. Characters CAN chose Weapons/Wargear up to 100(?) Points....

.

.

.

Contra:

3. Armoury says, PAGK can't buy Weapon's (still @work no Codex avaiable)? I do not know exactly

4. Codex says that (Purgation Squad was only an Example) an Justicar can buy Equipment avaiable for him out of the Armoury.....

.

.

.

@Number 6

For me Point 3 and 4 are NOT clear RAW, they are in my Opinion contradictorily...

Because there is: Point 1!!!

I do not want a fight here, but, thanks GW another unclear Passage.....

The Justicar is a power-armoured GK. Power-armoured GKs with access to the Armoury are forbidden from buying weapons; they may only buy wargear. It's that simple, there really isn't any wiggle room. All this talk about "character" doesn't matter. The Justicar is a PAGK, and PAGKs have Armoury limitations. It's stated clearly right at the top of the page, full stop.

Id agree with this to

Interestingly, the inquisitorial storm trooper veteran sergeant also has access to the armory. I don't see any problem running him in artificer armor or something ridiculous like that. Sounds like a fun modeling opportunity, but we know that as soon as the new codex comes these things will be deleted out of it.

Though I would love to see someone's conversion of that since the Kasrkin Sergeant is one of my favorite models available to Daemonhunters, but would that really be worth the points? I highly doubt I'd ever sink the points into that... :pirate:
