GlauG
I'd actually give Seth a shot if he could pick up a jump pack. Having to get a Land Raider for the dude just doesn't seem worth it. I dunno. Maybe if I can find a Stormraven conversion for under $20... I think part of the fact I keep considering giving Seth a whirl is the fact that I have two Stormravens. Land Raiders aren't a bad plan for him, but you're right, they seem expensive, and are slow by comparison with the rest of my army build... Seth, Priest with PW, 10-man RAS with PF/SS Sarge and an Elite Chappy might be a fun Scoring Deathstar in a LRR or LRC though!
Zid
My idea was doing this: Seth, Priest, 10x RAS 2x flamer, 1x PW, in LRR w/ MM... total: 640 pts. Seeing as I run 2 LRR in anything 2k+ anyway (yes, even against eldar) its not too big of a deal. Drop a libby and cut 35 pts of "extras" and he fits easily! Captain Idaho
Assaulting from Rhino transports is not as difficult as people think, and that is in a Codex army without fast transports. I think an often underestimated factor in 40K game play is potential. Because of the varigaries of the dice-gods, a player has to bear in mind what might happen as well as what should happen. If faced with an 8 strong assault squad with Sanguinary Priest and Seth in the middle, the opponent has to bear in mind what Seth could do to his mechanised assault force and that to receive an assault from them would hurt still (furious charge is awesome). Therefore when proposing to deal with this assault force the opponent has to be sensible or else run the risk his counter to Seth and his boys. And of course you have the rest of your army that will be (hopefully) causing trouble for the opponent too :)

Out of all the Chapter masters in every SM Codex he is weakest one, when he should be a monster! Instead of topics like is Seth worth it it should have been who would win Calgar/Logan/Seth he should have been the loyalist Khârn THE BETRAYER

Khavos
Er any Character can wiff attacks/wounds. That's true. Not a lot of them can hit, wound...and then fail to kill due to a Guardsman successfully taking an armor save. ;) Out of all the Chapter masters in every SM Codex he is weakest one, when he should be a monster! As I said earlier in this thread, he seems a lot more like a Space Wolves-style unit upgrade character than an actual Chapter Master. I'd take Arjac over Seth any day of the week, and twice on a day when I desperately needed an SC/MC hunting SC.
biglou666
personally, i think hes an awesome character for those points. mabye he wont kill a single guardsman? so what? its a game of dice, it happens sometimes. On the other end of the scale, he could pontectially kill 5 space marine captains in a single turn! (in a rather large apocolypse game ;) ) (on a side note, why would you charge him into guardsmen anyway? Send him to a command squad/ sentinel squad/ tranport instead! :P)

Besides, I dunno if anyones pointed out, but if you rend (sure, ya need a 6) you "technically" have a power wep. Whirlwind of gore + rending is actually pretty neat. Sure, most stuff will save... But seriously, if seth had a str 8 powerweapon at initiative with 5 attacks thats kinda broken @_@
