A Deathraven combo can be effective. If is a tough army to play as you will have very few models but if played correctly it can be very lethal. While certainly not a top tier army as far as competitiveness (no DA army is) it is one of the better builds DA can run, and the only truely unique build we have left.
I have only used the list a few times myself. I think the basic strategy is to use the bikes to scout forward to teleport terminators in turn 1 (those that can DW assault) and then use the bikes to pop tanks and the termis to shoot up the troops inside. This also hopefully sets the termis up for an assault on turn 2 to finish off squads. The army is somewhat of a glass hammer as your model count will be low and if you don't do enough damage early you will likely go down to massed fire power.

I like to use my DR in combat teams, 6 bikes, AB, LS, and a squad of DW. A couple of things to keep in mind when using Deathraven is that the RW are not great in CC and the DW will have to get shot at before they can assault. So I'll use my RW to screen the DW and work them on the flanks of the OP. Here is an example.

An isolated Sqd of Chaos on the right flank, maneuver the RW in combat Squads to threaten the target (close enough to charge), DS the DW and light up the target with everything and assault with one of the 3 bikes. Now you have probably taken out two or three of the opponents squad, they'll be tied up till the DW can assault next turn and the remaining 3 bikes, AB, and LS will be able to screen the combat from any OP support. This is just a brief example of how I use my DR.

Obviously there are other tactics that can be used, and they mostly revolve around keeping the OP off balance, avoiding combat unless its on your terms, and putting the DW in the right place at the right time.
