Chicago Games Day 2011

It's only a stone's throw away so I'll probably be going.

The last gamesday chicago was pretty crappy, they had a few paint and build events but free swag and goodies were really sparse and virtually no gaming going on. In teh past they used to have a lot of forge world available but that appears to have ended as last time they didn't have stuff for purchase, if you'd ordered stuff you could pick it up there but there was nothing for sale at the actual convention.

Adepticon is about a million times better IMO and something I'd dying to go to again. Gamesday I'll probably go out of habit but it's nothing overly exciting IMO.

What/where/when is adepticon?

Adepticon is April 1st-3rd in Lombard (IL). Right off of I-88 by yorktown mall. 3 minutes from the downers grove battle bunker.

One thing to be aware of is that they require the armies to be fully painted in order to play, so if you want to attend make sure everything has paint.

Here's a bunch of the pics I took at the 2010 adepticon, some really amazing armies.

I was at the 2009 Chicago Games Day AND at this year's Baltimore Games Day 2010. Even with the multiple Games Days that happened in 2009, the Chicago one was almost as big as this year's Baltimore event. They were virtually the same, except there were some more club events, etc. etc. Baltimore was bigger because they were trying to promote new video games and the Ultramarines movie.

It was a lot of fun. There were more random giveaways than at Baltimore.. You should go!
