xxvaderxx
So basically a WYSIWYG means that models have to represent the gear they carry, with the exeption of granades. So far so good, but then here come the Blood Claws. Technically speaking, a Blood Claw carries a Hand Weapon and a Pistol. So does the Guard. So do Hunter, but they also carry a bolter. So is there anything forbidding me to use "Blood Claws" models as Hunters or Guard?, after all a Hunter does carry a pistol and a Hand weapon. Whats the general consensus on this? stuff like Ard boyz, that are such ass kissers on this, whats their standing if anyone has experience with them. stinkenheim
Equipment that comes as standard does not need to be represented on a model. Only upgraded equipment is required. So in the case of GHs you can legally field a unit of marines all with boltguns and still be able to make use of their CCWs and grenades. You could not however try and use a model with boltgun as a meltagun, power weapon, wolf totem etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/210784-how-do-wysiwyg-tournaments-handle-the-pack/#findComment-2509472 Share on other sites

Thanks for the answer, but that doesnt quite address what i was asking. Hand weapon and pistol, comes stock for all 3 of them (BC, GH and WG), so my question is, could i field a model sporting a pistol and a hand weapon as a member of any of those 3 units?. Grey Mage
Yes, you could. Once they are painted however, the differences will be rather obvious if your using pack schemes- and if you arent, you should be. Why? Because WYSIWYG isnt about the model as much as its about perception- the idea is that your opponent should be able to tell, just by looking, what the things in your army are, at the least what things are the same and what are different. The BP+CCW thing isnt important, almost every model in our army is so armed, or can be. Thus, a small change like the color of your pack markings on one shoulder can, and would be, all you really need to fulfill these requirements. The Wolf Pack box can indeed be used to make any of those three units, combined with heavy weapons for long fangs, and Ive seen some cool scratch built characters come out of it too. fandon
Thanks! that helps me too! My army isnt QUITE finished being built but I'm getting sick of boltguns/CCW for a grey hunter showing his weapon look. Was going to use pack markings for sure though. Bobman
I agree. Standard equipment does not necessarily have to be modeled. But some TOs do ask it. Dewi Sant
I have just added the FW extra armour to all my Veh's in my great company. (3x Rhinos 1x WW 2x RB 3x Pred 1x LRC) Not for game reasons but for the fact that I think the standard Rhino chassis looks far to weak. If I start playing in tournaments will the WYSIWYG fun police have something to say? stinkenheim
Most of the time people are far more relaxed than you would think. So long as you are consistent most people don't have a problem. For example you have 3 Rhinos, all with the FW armour plates. If you said none of these have Extra Armour you would be fine, if you said all of these have Extra Armour you'd also be fine. The problem would only arrise if you said that this one has extra armour but these two don't because then your opponent (and possibly you) could become confused during the game as to which vehicle had what upgrades. That's what I was hoping. Don't think I would ever take the extra armour in a game. Rather spend my points on more GH's of a couple of LC's for my long fangs. The only time I could ever seen me using the extra armour is in a game of Apoc. ps... When are we getting the next installment of your excellent company markings?
