Hi-speed gothic

Our BFG group hit on the idea of a way to speed things along to make BFG a much faster and moere action packed game. so we decided to do a direct 1:1 conversion of BFG cm's into inches.

I used my normal 1,500 point chaos fleet VS a (proxy) craftworlf fleet.

We decided to keep it simple and did a passing engagement on a 4'X8' table with a 6" in deployment.

Manuevering became a bit trickier since you don't want to fly off the table and avoiding some of the celestial phenominon became difficult.

i must say however it was action packed. 30CM/IN guns never felt so grand. and bobmbers were actually quite a bit more of a threat(other than my opponants godly dice average defying 2+ save rolls)

He was running a void stalker as an ally in his list but it left after turn 2 when a lucky strike destroyed his holofields. all told i was left with 2 mostly undamaged ships (devestation and a carnage) and he was left with only the flame of asuyan after my styx exploded.

The tally was

-chos losses

.styx

.repulsive

.carnage

.devestation

-eldar losses

.dragon ship

.wraith ship

-fled the battle

.void stalker

.wraith ship.

All told i think the game took us mabey an hour.

I look forward to trying it again against other fleets in the future. as a side note i only used the AAF special order once to gather my fleet.....carnages dropping nearly 40 inches in a turn was quite a sight.

Now a few images-

Going to inches on such a small table I'd be amazed if the Eldar ever had anyplace to run. But it worked well otherwise?

But at least now I know what I'll use if I ever add to my Eldar fleet. With only a tiny bit of work those jet-bikes will make great Cruisers and they're still cheaper than the "real" ones.
