tahrikmili
Tactical Terminator Squad with Heavy Flamer, joined by Sanguinary Priest with Combi-Flamer. 265pts. Just walk them up the field, shoot, flame and smack along the way. What say you? tahrikmili
Well, even against Plasma I still have a 5++ save, which is better than nothing? :/ I can't afford a Land Raider (cost and pointswise) so I don't have any other choice for the unit. I could just run from cover to cover, I guess, until I'm within range of something squishy? Demoulius
hmm termi priest, the only one available with an invul save :P and likewise: terminators with FNP and FC ;) id say go for it, give it a try :) proxy if need be ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211085-tactical-terminators-meet-sanguinary-priest/#findComment-2511293 Share on other sites
Leonaides
How about some scouts with a teleport homer??? Accurate DS, then flame away... Means you're less exposed to plasma, and can arrange your flamers for better effect. Zid
Could be effective against say... nids, orcs, things of that manner with very few low AP shots. But guard, marines, etc... yeah, best to leave the termis at home :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211085-tactical-terminators-meet-sanguinary-priest/#findComment-2511547 Share on other sites
Wildfire
I'd say go with assualt termies with a few storm shields instead. WarpWalker
Find the points for a cyclone. You'll be happier you did. By walking them up the field you'll provide your army with better support. Personally, I would deep strike onto the field about 12 inches from the nearest enemy and unleash storm bolter and assault cannon death. Tactical termies are NOT great in close combat. I know, I used to play Death Wing. Wildfire
Tactical termies are NOT great in close combat. I know, I used to play Death Wing. I'd disagree with this. There's not a whole lot that can withstand the charge of a tac termie squad. They may not be quite as good as assualt termies, but they're certainly better than most. Where they fall short is defence. Assualt termies cannot take storm shields, which is a huge downside. One that applies to both combat and shooting. Well I'll back up the original statement, they aren't good in CC unless your fighting a vehicle. I think their firepower isn't that fantastic for 200+ points either. I cant say I've ever seen non deathwing tac termies in a competitive game, I certainly dont fear them. Wolves can make use of them like Death Wing but us BA players dont really have much use for them, we have much better mobile support units. Deepstriking terminators has to be one of the worst ways to spend 200pts I can think of. First they dont shoot on the first turn, their 'mean' turn to arive on is 3 so you wast 2 turns of firing. Then they scatter unless you have invested more points in a homer somewhere. Really not the best way to go about using terminators.
