Tears of the Emperor.. questions

Vor

Recommended Posts

So I remember reading once that the Emperor sheds a tear for every warrior who dies in his name.

My question are:

A ) Is this true?

B ) If it is, how feasible would it be for a chapter to be able to drink these tears for whatever reason?

It’s just a very basic concept I thought of while building an endless stream of flat pack furniture at work today. Not much point working on it if it’s not possible though.

I recall reading that as well, many moons ago. It said for every marine who dies he sheds an itsy btsy tear, and only on the most horrible of occasoins does he weep openly As for whether or not it's true...well, it was printed by GW, and seeing how I don't know of any "Big Boys Don't Cry" special rules for the Emperor since then, I'd say you're in the clear. The one problem is that GW/independant writers/fans have sort of run with the "Corpse on the Throne" idea in recent years, and general images don't really convey the sense that he has either the anatomy or the fluids to actually pull off crying.

As for drinking his tears...why on earth would a loyalist chapter drink their Daddy's tears? Seems like a backwards message to me. Anyway, I doubt it, simply because access to the Golden Throne is sort of a once in a millennium kind of thing, and the stacks and stacks of His Holy Weepings being kept in fancy little vials probably wouldn't be going anywhere.

Edit: Were they available beyond Holy Terra itself, I'm sure Slaneeshi warbands would steal them up in a second as some sort of twisted aphrodisiac ^_^

A ) not really i think, it was said, in a ciaphias cain book that the black bell of terra rang for every fallen warrior, and how if that was true the bell never stop ringing

B ) if it is so, u would have to find a way for terra to be your homeworld, you need a whole lot of chaplins also, and i really dont think the imperial fists will be much into shareing

C ) how about saints tears? just as holy, dont need to make it difacult to get ahold of, can make your own saint, tho i know it really sounds like a SoB thing, but a holy chapter works also

Like others have said, even if it was true (which I would doubt), a chapter being able to access the tears, collect them and then drink them is highly unlikely/impossible. Either they could do it metaphorically or through their chaplains (like the Blood Angels do with blood) or use a saint.

Isnt there an Inquisition item thats basically a grenade made using one of these vials of His tears? Seem to remember something like that...

But I'd ssay no to drinking it, a bit on the heretical side really, destroying a relic of the Emperor like a can of fizzy pop.

Out of interest though, where were you thinking of going with this? Supercharging librarians (same as Skaven do with Warpstone in WFB) or something else? These things arent exactly freely available in any case, so you cant glug one every time someone says Boo to your chapter master or anything.

I agree with the others really... Getting a tear of the Emperor would be all but impossible and I doubt that a relic that sacred would just be drunk. I do sort of like the idea of drinking the tears of a saint though... Maybe an old chapter master currently sealed in a dreadnought?

psyk-out granade but its literally made from emprahs poop :jaw:

I'm pretty sure it's tears. It's the holy Grenade of Antioch or something (thinly-veiled Monty Python reference).
