Hello again brothers,

Last time i showed my librarian and asked for some comments lots of folks said "doesnt look librariany enough" or more or less, and gave some great suggestions for stuff like psychic hoods and adding books etc. So heres a couple of WIP pics showing the hood and the book im goign to try fit in somewhere.

Please give more comments and criticisms. Any hints about where you think the book would look good would also be massively appreciated. The idea was to put it on his shoulderpad but cos of the jump pack it doesnt fit.

Cheers,

You have the book opening forward and put it as if he was carrying it with his left hand since it doesn't have anything to do, much like this one is positioned from GW. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...dId=prod1050253

As for what else to do...What about adding scrolls? I think there are parchments from tanks and such that you could use. If nothing else, you can green stuff some very small rolls, cut them, add string to give the impression that it is tied to his armor, then caver a swirl at each end to seem like it is rolled up.

Hope this helps

For the book, is there any way you could fit it to his left hand? ...like this guy:

The hood looks like a great start, but I think it needs to be a 'horned-skull' like the Librarians where. Could you perhaps greenstuff some curly horns or use some chaos or beastmen ones there?

Anyway, it's looking real good regardless.

EDIT: wow damn Ninjas!!

Yeah, i see what you mean about the horns, but i have never used green stuff so i think iwill just have to leave it as a skull. As for the book, i dont honestly think it would fit in his hand, the arm just isnt structured the right way. As for the scrolls, yeah i have a couple from the honour guard kit i could try shoehorn in somewhere, i might blue tack some stuff on and see how it looks.

Thanks for the replies so far guys,

I'd either make the book swing from his belt OR make him hold it in his hand. I am very interested in where you got the book from though since I am also creating a Librarian at the moment (WIP thread in sig). ^^

Oh. And If you have access to a pack of Skeletal Warriors (atleast the old stuff, around -99) you can take an antlerskull + horns from those sprues! I opted not to though since I couldn't find a large enough place to put it. :/

If you have the DA upgrade sprue, you should have more then enough scrolls. Though, if you got the book from a friend, used up the rest of the pieces, or the DA upgrade dosn't come with as much awesomeness as the raven wing battle force then this point is null.

I love the hood . It's really hot. :P

0b

Why thank you Black Orange, that is very kind. I have just finished painting and gluing the book into place, so will upload some pics of that tomorrow night, will be my first completed BA miniature. Just need to pick up some plastic glue and i can get to work on my honour guard.

Another great place to get books is from the WFB Flagellants box set or from the Mordheim accessory sprue. They come in two pieces so you can make them as open or closed as you would like; great for fitting in hands.

Ah! That sounds like a great tip. Thanks muchly jsutter.
