Finn
Hi all, This is the WIP on my test model for custom legion Disciples of blight (or maybe Grim Reapers of Cadaver). I'd appreciate any comments you might have :D So, basicly this is what the paint scheme is going to be like: http://i921.photobucket.com/albums/ad53/bkubera/chaosman2.jpg This is the CSM with his powerpack on, but the powerpack still needs a few stages of shading and highlights. This guy is going to be holding a scythe in both his hands, so he's a close combat guy. This is why he's covered in blood so much: http://i921.photobucket.com/albums/ad53/bkubera/ludek.jpg Let me know what you think! Cheers, Finn Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/ Share on other sites
Dosjetka
Wow. Now that, sir, is amazing! It's really well painted and I love the added blood, looks very realistic. Also, the eye glow is really well done! :tu: I await more! :D Ludovic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2512840 Share on other sites
Finn
Thanks for the comment! Right now I'm wondering what kind of bases I should give these guys. The blood is nothing special - it's just Tamiya Clear Red paint stippled on the model :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2512845 Share on other sites
Dosjetka
For the base, I would suggest maybe sand with dead grass? It would go with the "death" feel of your model IMO. Finn
Good suggestion, but I'm thinking of something a little bit more elaborate, like bloodied rocks mixed with rotting, severed heads :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2512850 Share on other sites

Finn
Not much progress - I made a base which I am going to cast in resin in several copies for other minis, too. This is what i came up with: http://i921.photobucket.com/albums/ad53/bkubera/Beznazwy1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2514676 Share on other sites
Xavier Targhost
Looks nice and a cool idea there mate :) Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2514688 Share on other sites
Finn
Naturally, there will be other patterns of bases to cast. I don't want each model to have exactly the same base. At the moment I'm pretty sure the loyalist corpse on the base will be an Ultramarine. Always. I hate Smurfs ^_^ However, aesthetic matters (colors mostly) may force me to change the chapter :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2514691 Share on other sites

darthgus
Yeah I to am loving that base. The mini looks good too, but I'd like to see it complete before I judge. Finn
Hi All, I've been working on the scythe design. This is what I came up with, but i think I'll add some green stuff to blend the parts. http://i921.photobucket.com/albums/ad53/bkubera/scythe.jpg I'm making my own, because I'll need LOTS of these. Casting is cheaper than buying bits :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2521082 Share on other sites
Dosjetka
Looks good! I can't wait to see a whole squad of these :) Ludovic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211232-grim-reapers-of-cadaver/#findComment-2521704 Share on other sites
Firepower
Also a fan of the blood effect, though I'm curious how it will look after varnish...hm. Interesting scythe you've whipped up there too. It does indeed look a bit plain, maybe a guitar cable or the usual "now-it's-a-SCI-FI-weapon!" tricks couldn't hurt. Might also be good to make a few different versions and cast them, just like the bases. A little variety goes a long way.
