Emperor's Children Heresy-era army: armour?

Hey guys! I've had the idea of building a Heresy-era army of the Emperor's Children for a while now; I believe I'm ready to start working. With that said I have a few questions regarding the armour of the EC during this time.

When the Heresy was in motion, would the EC have used MK V armour? This type was basically inferior armour bits bolted together to compensate for the disruption of armour manufacturing. I'd think the EC would shy away from this type since it was inferior and essentially "imperfect." However, when the Heresy was taking place, had the Legion abandomed their pursuit of perfection? Would the quality of the MK V armour still deter them from scavenging it?

I'd expect the majority of the Legion to be clad in MK IV Maximus armour, since the armour was in the process of being distributed to the Legions. This armour's distribution was inteurrupted by the Heresy, but since the EC were held in such high regard prior to the Heresy (being able to wear the Aquila and such), I'd think they were among the first to be equipped with this pattern.

As the Heresy was in motion and the EC on the side of Horus, they probably scavenged the MK VI Corvus patterm armour from fallen Loyalists to replace damaged MK IV Maximus armour/components. I'm sure it'd make sense to model a few EC clad in this pattern, correct?

That's all that's on my mind at the moment. Thanks in advance!

I did mine in Mk3, 4, 5 and 6 suits. The majority is in Mk4 however.

The EC are really messed up when the drop site massacre occours so mixing up the marks of armour is appropriate.

As long as you stay away from mk7 you should be ok.
