Warsmith Aznable
The world was pissing me off tonight, so I channeled that into making my second Chaos Dreadnought. His name is Forn Galgatyr, which means "Old God of the Gallows" (or near enough), and I crafted his extra CCW with some plastic tubing, cut up kit parts and treasures from the bits box. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/dreadview-facing.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/dreadview-front.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/dreadview-oblique.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/ccwdetail.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211341-dreadnought-of-khorne/ Share on other sites
Sgt. Blank
I like the concept and most of the model but if possible, I'd give him a bigger axe and take the Crux Terminatus off the end of the right arm. Warsmith Aznable
Yeah, I was kind of iffy about the cross thing, but I needed to fill the hole and it was the right size (didn't want to get out an GS, either). And I was angry and just building something. I'll probably go back and find a regular skull/something else to stick there. As far as the axe, I didn't want to scratch build one. Still don't, actually. On my other Dreadnought I've got two chainaxes I've turned into a one double-headed chainaxe, so I might stick another chain-axe onto the other side of that tube to see if it makes me any happier. Dan The Deamon
Man that is wild. I agree about that one weapon, it doesn't live up to the rest. I love that head in there. Warsmith Aznable
Pulled off the offending bits and made a mock-up for a scratch-built to gauge size. Is this big enough do you think? http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/dreadview2-front.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/dreadview2-side.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211341-dreadnought-of-khorne/#findComment-2514283 Share on other sites
Haunter!
Now that's looking a bit more appropriate. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211341-dreadnought-of-khorne/#findComment-2514291 Share on other sites

LuNCHBiZZLe
something about the second CCW just doesn't seam right to me, but I can't tell, it's not that you used a shooty arm as the base thats been done a bunch...I just don't know. Sgt. Blank
"You call that an axe? This is an axe" I like the new one a lot and look forward to seeing the model finished. Warsmith Aznable
Worked up the new Big Ass Chain Axe for him. It's the first time I've done anything with plasticard like this, but I'm also planning to make something like this for two or my Defilers. One of those is going to have big chain axe hands like this guy, and the other one is going to have big buzz saw hands... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/newdccw-003.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/newdccw-002.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/newdccw-001.jpg I'm not sure if there should be some further adornment, like a spike or something on the top or back. elohimalpha
Yeah, I think a big jagged spike on the back would help balance it out, and would give you a handy place to still your freshest skulls (for the Skull Throne, natch). Looks like you'll have some nice territory to GS some details in too; can't wait to see what you come up with. Nice work so far!
