River Black
For some strange reason there is this nagging voice in the back of my mind that is telling me that Fear of the Darkness has some serious potential and I am trying to figure out the best way to use this power. So who uses this power and how? The main obstacle with using this power (that I see) is that its a shooting attack. This means that if the Libby uses the power on one squad and they do fall back then the squad that he is attached to cannot fire or assault a diffrent squad. The squad could always fire before the Librarian uses his power couldn't they? What does the power do exactly? Don't have the codex here.
River Black
Yes the squad could fire into the squad that the Libby is targeting
Hiro_Protagonist
If you got behind them you could actually make them fall back towards you (for assault) or even wipe them out due to being trapped.
SamaNagol
My librarian drives round in a rhino casting it out the top. It's bloody superb.
Brother_Dan'l
It's a really situational power. Some armies is pure perfection against and some it's a total waste of time. I use pre-made lists so it's a bit of a crap shoot. The times I have used it it's was as a back-up power for my Furioso Librarian. I used it the turn he was dropped off by a Deep Striking Stormraven and a couple of times was able to send an enemy squad running so that they weren't able to support the unit I wanted to charge on the following turn. But since I no longer Deep Strike my SR and I'd much rather use Might of Heroes anyway, I no longer use Fear of the Darkness at all.
Erasmus of Baal
I've seen one player at my LGS use it to devastating effect just by driving enemies sitting on objectives to flee the table! I haven't had a chance to try it out myself, but it sounds pretty awesome.
captain Mungo
You could always have some fun with podding a libby or a libbydread and force some devastators to run off the table before even getting a shot off, or anything else thats expensive, non-fearless and often close to the table edge ;)
BLACK BLΠFLY
That would be a great tactic versus Devs and Long Fangs !
Zid
Prime targets: -Nob units below 10 models - Thunderwolf calvary in any fashion (especially if they have no HQ in the unit) - Devastators - Biker squads - Longfangs - 90% of space marine troops - Loota units FOTD, IMO, is the most powerful spell we have. Rage comes a close second (rerolling 30 marine attacks, + libby, + priest? awesome!). FOTD can really mess up someones day. But as a previous poster mentioned, some armies its pretty useless against (tyranids being one)
