Pre-Heresy Emperor's Children: Army composition/tactics?

So I've decided to build a pre-heresy EC army using the new Mk4 Maximus armour kits from FW. I'm also in the middle-end of Fulgrim. I'm planning to use the current SM Codex with the army and was curious about the army composition. (special weapons, vehicles, units, etc.) Any thoughts?

Personally i see the Emperor's Children as being a flexible and balanced chapter. Kind of like the Ultramarines (that is a complement in my book), so codex SM is perfect for them.

In "Fulgrim" i don't remember special weapons or heavy weapons mention in regards to tactical squads. However i wouldn't read anything into that.

The EC would have access to all items in the space marine armoury except the newer landraider Mks, razor backs and maybe Thunder fire cannons. I would limit the use of assault cannons and Vindicators. Masters of the forge don't really fit in my opinion either and neither do Aux. grenade launchers.

 

I imagine the EC as having a large number of Sternguard, with their preference of overlapping fields of controlled bolter fire.

"Fulgrim" mentions landraiders, tactical squads, havoc squads, assault squads, command squads, terminator squads, dreadnaughts, predators, rhinos, drop pods, apothacaries, chaplains, captains and veteran squads. Most things in fact.

 

Use lots of veterans. We are the best of the best after all. :P

I also just started working on PH Emperors Children. But I decide to create them using actual scale marines created from terminator models. Unfortunately those large scaled models need to be put on terminator bases. This why I decided to play them using for them rules of Death wing.

 

I wanted them to have support from of Speeders and Predators. Unfortunately both those vehicles look very small compared to actual sized Space Marine. So instead of Speeders I plan to use actual scaled jetbikes. (Actually I have one already created) And instead of Predators there will be buggy with one marine inside. Some think similar to this one used by Imperial Guard drop troopers.

 

There will be a lot of work with this army but the will look great.

 

Back to the subject. I would suggest Infantry based army. With support of speeders and Land Raiders. Now vanilla Space marines have to be SAFH.
