The Tides of Madness

So I am finally breathing life into my Daemons army. My intent is to run a Tzeentch Themed army without being mono god list. I have always liked the Bird gods fluff "Change you can Believe in" but a mono list doesn't fit well to my play style of aggressive versatility. That being said here is the first of many painted pics to come.

My Blue Blood-Crusher - The Lord of Change knows no bounds and enforices his will upon those outside his plane.

Here we see the Honor Guard of the Smurfs meeting a crushing end.

Had a change of heart. Though I still love the fluff of the Great Changer I am leaning my painting style to a set color palette over set fluff. I have moved to a palette of Red, Black, and Dulled Gold. A set color palette will unite a multi god list better then set fluff

Even more change to my Tzeentch army (it's ADD and it's themey too!)

Still not satisfied with my crushers for my Tzeentch themed army I worked on the model some more and I think I am rather pleased with the results.

***Enter the Fatecrushers*** (yes I know the name is used for a Fateweaver crusher list but it just has such a nice ring for the unit)

I took a note from our Chaos Space marine allies and did a blending of a khorne champ riding a juggernaught and gave it a Tzeentch feel. It still bears the Crusher body shaved off any obvious khorne markings, removed the bull head which was replaced with a giant eye of tzeentch. For the rider I wanted to visually carry over the 3+ armor save thier rule set gives them, so I mounted a thousand son marine on top. Now in an effort to make sure i still remained a "daemon" army and not some hybrid blend I didn't do just a regular rubric marine but instead did a possessed 1k son (seeing as thier own rule set marks them as daemonkin) on top. An to bear the apperance of a power weapon/hellblade I gave his arm the mutation that looks like an old powerfist with a blade cracking through giving the blade a turquiose coloring of power. Like I said all in all I am pleased with the model.

Bases aren't done cause I am trying to finalize my desicion on what resin bases I want for my Daemons army

Yes I want a pack of 6, they all are going to bear the eye motif for a head (if it's not apparent i didn't make the eye it is part of the crusher model it's the joint where the bullhead is glued on) the riders will all be different as will the random mutations moving about the crushers body (aka tentacles and horns and what not). I also want to make a rider with a more stylized mount for a "pack leader" not sure how to tackle that one yet.

Some more additions to the Tides of Madness Host. Have to save I love playing them even more now that they are getting paint on them. Something to say about the blandness of just primered models.

First up is Grenmaul'Groth a Demon Prince of the Thousand Sons Chapter

And just to show DPs aren't without love. Here is Grenmaul Hugging a Gaurdsmen

Next up the changeling. I removed his staff because the direction staffs little ribbonets was going was opposite the way the wind sweep his gathered robes at his feet. As soon as I can get one I plan on throwing a bolt pistol or las pistol in his hand which is still pinkish to show he is still transitioning from what he was pretending to be.

An of course with a Changeling comes his retinue, the Court of Change (always liked the grumpy blue horrors more then the gitty pink horrors)

A closer pic. All of my armies "Bolt" horrors will have the beak painted gold to set them out from the others. And I also wanted to show the color transition on the tendrils and tongue. A phasing of thier once pink horror state.

With this I leave you with a thought as i head back to the table.

"If change is inevitable why do anything but embrace it" All hail the Lord of Change
