ImperialReaper
Reading through the BA Codex for Fluff at the moment I realised everything points thowards that some baaad things are going to happen to the Blood Angels and/or the imperium of man. For instance it is descriped that Dante himself has visions of a golden warrior standing between the emperor and a great evil - and he feels this vision is not about the Horus Heresy but about the future. Pretty much everyone else with psychic abilitys and visions of the future is seriously concerned and depresed - Corbolo, Mephiston ect. Any Ideas what all of this could be pointing at? Are the Dark Eldar going to overrun holy Terra in the new Codex or what?!
Terrahawk
Welcome to the grim darkness of the future. :P Now seriously, that's pretty much what Games Workshop is pushing for the Imperium of Man in general. It's all part of the setting. There's also other stuff such as the Golden Throne malfunctioning in the future etc. Whether Mandkind will become extinct or not... we'll never know since the timeline has been frozen. (And rightly so.)
Grey Mage
So... umm... I dont know how to tell you this. So I guess Ill just try to sum it up quickly as possible. GRIMDARK :P Seriously though- 3% of the nidz are invading, the necrons are waking up, demons are invading their homeworld, the golden throne is dying, and the eldar intend to implode into a god of death.... Whats in the scrying crystal to get excited about? Half off at the local armory?

(And rightly so.) Ok, but it was a bit strange, since I did not find any of this in the normal Space Marine Codex. By the Way whats all that about Golden Throne Malfunction? Did I miss something here? Maybe the Ultramarines Primarch is going to awake - most books say his wounds would seem to heal. EDIT: Oh I found that about the malfunction of the Golden Throne. BUT I have faith in the Emperor. I guess when this thing fails, the emperor will be freed from his useless body and his mighty spirit will be reborn in a new one. This way he will walk amomg man again to kick some heretic or alien ass.

The bit about the Throne malfunctioning is in the 5th Edition Rulebook, along with a hefty dosage of other gloom and doom. It's been a while since I read my Codex: Space Marines, but yeah, I think the Time of Ending wasn't nearly as prevalent there as it is in Codex: Blood Angels. Hellios
The end times are coming... it is a theme with both the Imperium and the Eldar... The Imperium is faciung to many varied threats with many of its greatest defenders on the verge of being eaten... Blood Angels have daemons and something else right? about to eat them... Ultramarines have nids and a Waaaaagh from the Largest Ork Empire heading towards them and who knows what the Tau will do! The Chaos may or may not be in trouble as the Eldar seem to think that Ynnead will destroy Slaanesh but I do not know is Ynnead will want to or be powerful enough to destroy any of the great powers as they are stronger. I guess it mainly comes down to Nids, Orks Necrons... and my money is on the Crons... they go OTT destroy all life and then starve to death... or at least the C'tan do... Unless they can still feed of stars...
Wildfire
Yeah, it's a bit overdone in this edition. The background was always that Man was in decline, but now it's overemphasized if you ask me.
Joasht
I think GW is building up to something big. Like, Warhammer 41,000, except they will retain the name "40,000" but finally push the timeline ahead. Maybe, possibly. Maybe not, but I can hope..... ImperialReaper
You always can find out about that by checking the UK Trademark Registry. If they build up to a whole new Part like 41K - you will shure find some Trademarkapplications for all the new brands...

Can I get a "like" button? Just for this post? 'cause, seriously, dude, STRAIGHT WE WILL BE ON THE FRONT :cuss LINES MAKING SUCH AN END AS TO NEVER BE FORGOT! For the genreal thread with the BA Codex being full of doom-and-gloom, these are the guys who have been cursed almost from the beginning. I wan't surprised by all the negatives. lunchb0x
the Space Wolves kinda like this as well, but not nearly as much as the BA.
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Russ and his bar buddies, Corax and Vulkan, will be led out of the eye by The Khan who managed to find and kill all the eldar in the webway then got bored and went to the eye. The Lion will wake up then the Dark Angels will reveal their true allegiance and kill him. Guilliman will arise from stasis and be crowned king of the smurfs, then will begin a crusade into the eye. Dorn's hands will come to life and become the chief fists. Manus' body will wake up and hunt down the head, unintentionally killing the entire black legion on it's way. Sanguinius will be revealed as the sanguinor after an embarrassing incident involving makeup, mephiston, the BA changing rooms, and a broken lock. The Emperor will return from his 10,000 year toilet break(hey, if you're the immortal ruler of all mankind, you have a right to take a potty break every few million years) and destroy Slaanesh, the webway, and the eldar with the power of the flush, leaving Ahriman stuck in the webway with every harlequin in existence. Zynk Kaladin
Even in the event of imminent extinction, mankind will rise above the flames with or without the Emperor. We have plenty of heroes to ensure this.
ImperialReaper
I tell you - the Emperor will come beack as soon as that stupid golden throne fails. He was born from psychic energy - he does not need that rotting corpse of a body he is now trapped in. And first thing he will do when he comes back - he will take his holy armored shoe, take it sideways, and shove it straight up the Adeptus Terra`s candy a**es for doing it all wrong for the last few centurys. Afterwards he will pack his sword and his Astartes and then we can watch him going to town! And dont be afraid of Orcs and Nids. When it comes to inventing effective ways to extinguish any kind of other and even human lifeforms - humanity is unbeaten since nearly 40.000 years! Then he will invade the webway and punch some eldar in their faces and throw them all out, so humanity can use it and noone has to travel through the warp any more. Afterwars he will lead a big mean crusade INTO the eye of terror, where he will be busy slaughtering any upspring of chaos he can find fot the next few millenia. How does it feel when the war comes to YOU heretics? The Necrons will be kept in check by a giant magnet during this time. Afterwards the emperor will melt them down and forge one big, shiney spaceship from them. Bling bling whereever you look, with the biggest chrome realms the universe has ever seen. And on this he will then start his "The Emperors is Back" tour across the whole univese. This is what has to happen in 6th Edition. If the guys at GW do anything else - they are all fools! Jakobus
While I don't agree with everything you say, I do believe that we probably won't see a progression of the timeline before 6th Ed comes out or in the lead up to it anyways. And really, we'll still be playing little men shooting each other, its just that the background will shift again.
