Bjorn felhanded conversion

You could try putting them (shields) on the shoulder ala the Crux Terminatus ... there's always that nice flat area on at least one of the shoulders where you could do that.

Very nice on the conversion, by the way. The AoBR dreadnoughts weren't fantastic and you managed to build a nice looking model out of it. Bravo.

Very nice conversion lil brother...and yes the last pic is much better I can see the coloration better and the wolf banner is fine as it is...

I too liked the shield Idea but perhaps choosing the TDA shield rather than one from the pack box was where you made your mistake??...the shields in the pack box are smaller and when the hand attachment is removed from the back with a hobby knife (carefully I might add) it has the perfect curve to mount on a dread leg

i think the dreadnought is very awesome, i really do.

it just doesnt scream "Bjorn" to me.

Its the Multi-Melta. Give him his TwinLas or Plasma Cannon and it do something. I'd also suggest a transfer or something painted onto his right leg greave (his left in the photo).

Its much improved since it began. Well done.

Yeah its the AOBR so only had the melta. its magnetized and have a plasma cannon, twin laz, and even hurricane bolters lol just for fun.

the plasma will look more BJORN for sure. but being a dread I am sure Bjorn has an arsenal of weapons to outfit himself with depending on the threat he is to face.

I am actually still debating on what I want to paint or transfer onto the bare leg. I KNow im putting something there just not sure what. I have plenty of space wolves transfer sheets and have paper to make my own transfers as well, so any suggestions from my brothers here at the fang?

Generally I try to put something representing his former pack. If he was a Grey Hunter or Long Fang then the appropriate colors and some kind of interlaced triangle representing teeth or whatever. Consider heraldry and making a diagonal or vertical half of the colors and lay on the appropriate Pack decal. There are options.

If you take one of the banners or wolf totems and carve it out (heat and bend it if necessary) then you get a handy little icon.

I've used the Blackmane symbol you get on the Drop Pod sprue to take pride of place on my Storm Shields. You can carve the plastic relatively easy but you have to be patient to get it thin enough to not stick out like a sore thumb.

He was appointed by Russ to lead the Chapter just before Russ himself disappeared. So, IMO, he would display that standard and it wouldn't be wrong. Depending on the time index of the Bjorn modelled, I can see a multitude of banners on the Venerable one. Besides, don't they ALL belong to the Great Wolf's Company before being assigned to other companies for deployment?

@Strombrow: Its not the armament.

One of my first, and most loved, models for my Wolves is Bjorn. I think of him as the perfect representation of the Wolves in a galaxy full of Marines. The squat, heavy form just overflows with agressiveness, power and the heft of the model is reassuring.

so, atleast for me, most Bjorn conversions dont work. This one i really like, but it isnt Bjorn for me.

to the OP: it really is a awesome model.

Yes I do believe they all belong to the chapter and are attached to the companies at the great wolf's disgression. But thain I then again im a bloodclaw still so I could be wrong.

If you look through the codexes over the years you will see that his pack markings have been painted on him in various situations /reincarnations...I have seen pics where he has been tagged with his GH pack as well as his WG pack colors...so the call is yours...
