Here is what the Daemonhunter is running: HQ Grand Master with a Master Crafted Force Weapon Terminators(4) Inquisitor Lord w/ Psycannon & Pyschic Hood Sage Veteran(3) 3 Plasma Guns Mystic Elite Brother Captain Terminators(4) Callidus Assissin Troops Storm Trooper(5) 2 Melta Guns Rhino w/Smoke Launcher Storm Trooper(5) 2 Melta Guns Rhino w/Smoke Launcher Grey Knight (4) 2 Psycannon Justicar Grey Knight (8) Incinerartor Justicar w/Holy Icon Heavy Support Land Raider Crusader Multi-Melta, Extra Armor Dreadnought w/Twin-Lined Lascannon & Missile Launcher Total 2001 Heres what I was going to Run since I didn't get to use it last weekend: HQ Rune Priest Jaws of the World Wolf Living Lightning Chooser Wolftooth Necklace Saga of the Beastslayer Rune Priest Murderous Hurricane Jaws of the World Wolf Stormbolter Chooser Wolftooth Necklace Elite Wolfguard Pack (3) Power Fist Power Fist Normal Troops 2x Grey Hunter Pack (8) Meltagun Powerfist Wolf Standard Mark of the Wulfen Rhino Heavy Support Long Fang Pack (5) 4 Missle Launchers Sergeant is Standard Long Fang Pack (5) 3 Missle Launchers Lascannon Sergeant is Standard Any CC would be most helpful!!! I have no idea what the Orc Player is bringing, when I asked he said LOTS of Orks so that could mean anything i s'pose. Should I maybe change the loadout of the Long Fangs to better deal with the Armor? Maybe another Lascannon and some Heavy Bolters instead of Missle Launchers? KiltedMarine Posted September 23, 2010 Share Posted September 23, 2010 I'd say your LF packs are pretty solid- the only really heavy armor he's got is the LR, and you can deal with that with your melta guns and the lascannon, while the MLs can do double duty killing his Rhinos and some of his infantry. That particular load-out is popular for a reason. How many points are we looking at, here? I don't have my 'dex handy, but it doesn't look like a lot. I'm of the opinion that HQ-heavy lists are risky, and yours looks like one to me. I'd call for dropping one HQ choice and spending the points on more GHs. As it stands, you only have two units tha can hold objectives. More troops is never a bad thing. If you can't buy another GH squad with the points, then a Land Speeder is a good way to draw fire off of the troops you do have. Not exactly what either of us expected, I ended up going up against a SoB army with a Cannoness with a jump pack or wings? , an Immolator with guys in it, an Exorcist Launcher, 2 Rhinos carrying his 2 squads of Sisters, and a Penitent engine aswell. Not entirely sure on the time line of when stuff blows but bare with me. Capture and Control Turn One Sisters go first...Boo The Exorcist pops one of my rhinos even before it moved, very bad day. At least they were right next to an objective. Everything else just moved toward my stuff Wolves go I move one rhino up behind some terrain and move the squad from the newly wrecked Rhino hit by the Exorcist into the cover near an objective and open up with my Long Fangs and stopped his Immolater and One Rhino from moving or Shooting next turn. Turn Two Sisters move what can move up and that damned exorcist try and takes out a wound on a Long Fang Pack. A Rhino moves in behind exposed cannoness and it's load of Grey Hunters disembarks from it. Long Fangs Wreck a Rhino, pin down the Immolator with an Immobilized and get 1 wound on the Cannoness. Disembarked Squad opens up on Cannoness and takes her out of the battle. Turn Three Exorcist makes 2 wounds on a Long Fang Pack leaving the Sergeant and 2 Missle Launchers, Penitent Engine moves in to Assualt the Rhino because it had to go towards the closest enemy, 1/2 an inch closer then my Grey Hunter Squad. Immolator Squad Disembarks Grey Hunter pack Desimates the Sister Squad in the Wrecked Rhino, Long Fangs score a Can't Move, Can't Shoot on his second Rhino. Turn Four Immolator Squad incinerates Grey Hunter Squad with 2 Flamer Templates (and a Meltagun I think) At this point we Call it a draw we are both holding one objective and have a health no man's land between his stuff and mine. Had TONS of fun. I trhink next time I will blend my 2 lists and run with one Rune Priest and one Wolf Priest.
